Crown Hotel Stamford

We never stayed the night. The room was thirty degrees C even though they had a fan. Plus there was a constant noise from an extractor fan outside. It was impossible to stay there so we had to go somewhere else.The hotel was zero help with this, even thought the receptionist came to the room and heard and felt the noise and temperature. The only other room on offer was next door which would've been just as hot and noisy given the location. These were clearly the two very worst rooms in the hotel left until the end of the day. The hotel was full otherwise. No refund, no discount. They didn't care that the room was so hot in the heatwave - the fan itself showed 30 degrees C - that it was not healthy to sleep there. It's a disgrace. We lost the money we paid and had to book somewhere else.

Great location right in the centre with parking. The room, staff and breakfast were all excellent. There is a lovely outside seating area to enjoy when the weather is nice.

The Crown Hotel is fabulous! Beautiful place with great staff and facilities in a perfect location. The only issue was that our standard room had very thin walls and we could hear the person next door snoring all night. Also, did wornder if Room 7 was above the kitchens as think the Chefs / kitchen staff had their radio on loudly around 7am which we could hear.. Would definitely stay again though, in a higher graded room.

Excellent - comfortable and very clean room and bathroom; breakfast is served in quirky bar downstairs and is excellent - they bring everything to you. no elbowing other guests out of the way over the muesli bowl (only joking!). Hotel was clearly converted from a house, it is easy to get most between, bar, hotel and reception.

Lovely clean room with good quality toiletries. Very good breakfast which included a gluten-free full English for me. We loved the outdoor courtyard and the decor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was available which was very helpful.

Very attractive hotel right in the middle of the town.

What a little gem! Room was fabulous. Lovely decor and super comfy bed. The breakfast next morning was delicious, high quality local produce used. Stamford is such a beautiful town. Fantastic little getaway 👌

I would recommend this hotel. It has friendly efficient staff, free parking, a nice bar area and restaurant and a well maintained outside area. The hotel is clean and well looked after. We had Sunday lunch but this was very ordinary and frankly disappointing. Breakfast however was much better and is highly recommended. The one gripe I have is the Timothy Taylor Landlord, a favourite of mine, was poor. It was poored flat and lifeless. Sadly, after 3 pints, I had to resort to Guinness (which was fine). The hotel room was small but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The hotel is dog friendly. I wouldn't say this was a value for money hotel but I would rather pay extra and be happy with my stay (which I was) than pay a lower price and be disappointed.

Right in the centre of Stamford, this hotel has everything - great clientele, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and excellent wine and food.

We visit the garden of The Crown for coffee most Fridays - it really is a delightful spot with all the fabulous hanging baskets and pots. Service is always professional and we look out for Jess, who is such an asset to the waiting staff. She is always cheerful and happy to chat if she has a spare moment.
