Crown Hotel Stamford

Have visited this pub on two occasions now for dinner and the food is excellent. Nicely decorated, good atmosphere, great drinks menu with selection of spritz and cocktails and all of the food served was very very good. Would definitely go back.

What a discovery in a first class location. This privately owned hotel in the centre of Stamford is within walking distance to the High street and other desirable town features. The Crown Hotel really is the jewel in the crown, so many pleasing aspects and full of character. The staff are delightful and extremely helpful and the cleanliness is first class. There is a secure car park, be patient in finding it especially if you are arriving on market day. The bar has a great atmosphere. The hotel also has a sister restaurant in a very old characterful building. Burghley House is only a drive of a few minutes away and a must if you have never been. Lovely room, bar and restaurant and excellent food. However, what made the visit extra special were the friendly staff who made us feel so welcome. Must give a mention to Toni on reception who went above and beyond to sort out my booking when I accidentally reserved on the wrong date!

A great Hotel, right in the center of Stamford. A big thanks, to Lewis and the rest of the bar staff, also Toni and the rest of the hotel team. Lovely garden and seating/drinking area. Hotel rooms, lovely, ace shower. Good secure car park. Always love visiting the Crown.

Lovely room. Little pricey for what we had . However it was a very late booking . Bit of disappointment that they only service su day lunch at dinner however the food was food . Staff friendly and helpful

Lovely looking Hotel easy, parking comfortable friendly, breakfadt very nice lovely decor so much so we are booking to come again for my partners birthday next weekend x

Stamford is well worth a visit and this is a good place to stay in the centre of town. Friendly staff. Good bar and restaurant serving fairly standard fayre in large quantities. We were allocated a room in a townhouse a short walk from the main hotel. Room 35 is at the top: the stairs are narrow and twisty, so getting luggage up and down was a challenge. In fact, given the uneven flagstone pavements and cobbled streets, we’d avoid using a suitcase if we returned! Our room was small and plain but clean, with good amenities. Breakfast was very good. Our B&B rate was reasonable, in keeping with similar places.

We loved The Crown. Excellently located within easy walking distance of everything. The attractive old building has been refurbished to a very high standard., and spotlessly clean throughout. The staff were all welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was excellent for both an evening meal and breakfast. Great public bar with real ale. Easy secure parking at the rear. This is certainly the place to stay if you are visiting Stamford.

Stayed for 1 night in room 11 a birthday treat This room is at the rear and overlooks the garden restaurant & car park & accessed via 2 flights of stairs. The day we arrived was really hot & humid & as this is an old building we didn’t expect aircon. Our bedroom was lovely nice sized king size bed & plenty of room for 2 people to move around. Bathroom was a walk in shower - best hotel shower ever as own power shower easy to operate, not a fixed shower head lovely shower gels etc. Yes it was hot our fan said 30 but in addition to floor standing fan there was a good ceiling fan. There initially was a loud vibration sound but this was the bathroom extractor which turned off quite quickly. Temp did reduce to 23 & we slept fine. Good quality bed linen & thank heavens no million cushions on the bed. Breakfast is all prepared to order including fruit juice really lovely way to start the day. We didn’t use the car park as we came by train but we did see it could be tight, but people just needed to park better. Staff were friendly. I’m hoping to come back soon
