"Not for us"

2.0

We didn’t stay - my daughter and I simply popped in to enquire about weddings there. The rather snooty receptionist looked at us and said they only did exclusive weddings, which involve all 90 bedrooms, and were we still interested?! He more or less took one look and assumed it would be out of our budget. Awful! No way would we want to hold a wedding there if some of the staff are like that.

"Stunning hotel with a fair few disappointments"

6.0

Oakley Court is a stunning hotel, with plenty to like but plenty of disappointments - especially given the price. The positives: a room upgrade on arrival. Always a good start. Staff are generally very courteous and helpful. The decor and the ambience of the hotel are delightful. The negatives: £25 per person each for breakfast, which is a pretty limited buffet. Nobody actually tells you the cost of this, you just discover it when checking out. The prices on the dinner menu are laughable. £29 for a poke ball, £15 toasties, £29 for a small beef burger with no fries, £20 for a pizza. The food was fine but not outstanding. Oh, and don't forget the service charge added to everything, including the get it yourself breakfast. The spa is fine but small and dated. The steam room is just some big smelly plastic box, and the sauna was out of order for the duration of our stay. Not quite luxury. The room got crazy hot in the night. We tried operating the aircon but it just blasted intermittently. Oh and don't nick any of the tiny toiletries! There's signs telling you not to. Very welcoming. Finally, my wife had a bath which somehow caused a leak in the downstairs room. Cue several visits from maintenance men and no apology for the disruption from hotel management.

"A fantastic family break"

10.0

I booked a long weekend with my daughters and one fiancé as a surprise break for them- initially choosing it as a venue because of the Rocky Horror connection. We’re all fans, and i thought it would please them. As a surprise it worker beautifully, and as a stay it was even better, surpassing anything i could gave hoped for. The Court itself is of course beautiful. The grounds are stunning. The most impressive part by a long way was the staff who could not have done anything more to make it a wonderful and memorable break for all of us. We pushed the boat out on Friday and joined the Chef Akira Japanese fusion tasting experience. It was a very lively, fun crowd of just 12 and wirth every penny. Stunningly good food, ably hosted, beautifully presented. Could not recommend this place enough. I absolutely loved every second of it thank you, all x

"Wonderful Hotel"

10.0

We went here for my Husband’s 70th birthday and had a lovely stay. We stayed in the boathouse in one of the large river views and it was huge. Very comfortable King sized bed, separate seating area with armchairs, sofa and table , 2 TV’s, bath/shower stocked with cowshed toiletries, i bought the body scrub as it was so nice. The room came with coffee & tea, little fridge with water coke and milk, plus a welcome home made cookie. There was also a snack box with crisps, popcorn and other goodies like chocolate and jelly tots. The hotel is stunning, so many areas of beauty and interest, lots of different places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. We ate lunch on the terrace and i had the chicken salad which was superb, must try this. Husband had a burger, we had pizzas for evening meal. The breakfast was very good, lots of choice to help yourself and you can order omelettes etc if you want. I have full English and peanut butter and banana on rye bead, plus greek yoghurt and strawberries. There is a swimming pool, with steam room and sauna, plus jacuzzi and a full gym. We used all but the gym. The grounds are amazing, it is right on the river and boats gently pass up and down. At night the trees are all lit up like a fairy grotto, i loved it here. The staff were great, the service was excellent and everyone was very professional yet friendly. We had a wonderful stay, thank you.

"Stunning Hotel - great staff , wonderful location "

10.0

We were visiting Legoland and meeting friends and this was a good location. Turned out to be a great location and a great hotel. Staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival and during our 2 night stay. Food was lovely , we had an evening meal and breakfast really good. Lovely hotel lots of amazing rooms to sit in. Bedroom was really nice with a view over the river which was stunning. The outside space was spectacular and we popped over to the 'River House' on the Sunday afternoon where there is a great 'Ibiza Vibe' going on - lovely sushi and pizza available and nice little bars - really buzzing but relaxing. My 9 year old and I loved the pool , so clean and the water was clear and not full of chlorine. Next time we would like to spend more time at the hotel relaxing and riding the complimentary bikes. All in all it is a stunning hotel with a relaxed feel about it. Would definitely recommend it.

"Exclusively Unwelcoming"

2.0

Ah, what a delightfully exclusive experience—assuming, of course, you're lucky enough to have booked an overnight stay (or maybe just wandered in from a period drama set). The building is stunning, the surroundings are lush, and the vibe? Oh, pure faux-member’s club chic—you know, the kind where you're neither a member nor particularly welcome. I wasn’t even offered a humble glass of tap water (unless you are a guest you can't order ANYTHING) Instead, I was graciously directed to the nearby Monkey Island resort—a clearly well-trodden path for fellow “non-guests” like myself. Always nice when a hotel has an official overflow venue for their unwanted visitors. And the staff? So warm and welcoming—NOT!!! Completely aligned with a fellow reviewer who noted the distinct lack of warmth. I’m guessing smiles are reserved strictly for those who pay for a suite and perhaps their soul. As a proud member of all the Soho Houses and their charming summer pop-up next door, I mistakenly assumed there might be some connection here. Silly me! Mea culpa, indeed. Should’ve known better than to think a place advertising afternoon tea to the general public would actually, you know, serve it. Apparently, the website hasn’t been updated “in a couple of years.” Charming touch of vintage web maintenance. So if you're ever in the area and craving a taste of elitism without the credentials, and enjoy being gently (or not-so-gently) turned away, this is absolutely the place to not be.

"Quintessentially British Luxury by the River"

10.0

From beginning to end, Oakley Court offers a beautiful, luxury, quintessentially British, riverside hotel experience. With the added bonus of access to Soho Riverhouse through a gate at the bottom of the garden, this summer stay was exceptional. All of the staff were approachable and friendly, my room was stunningly clean and well maintained, the bed was very comfortable, and I slept peacefully through the night. The room service breakfast was served piping hot and representative of the luxury experienced elsewhere on-site. Whilst I can imagine a stay here might be very different if the weather didn't allow you to enjoy the outdoor space, sitting by the river and enjoying drinks and good food in the shadow of the beautiful manor was well worth the price paid. There's also plenty of lounge and bar seating indoors should the heavens open, but I personally enjoyed the ambience of being by the river the most. I'd happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for something truly special in the Windsor area. You'd pay a lot more for a lot less elsewhere in London.
