Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa, Goa

I was supposed to stay at this resort for 4 days. My father suffered a brain bleed and we had to cancel 1 day before our stay and fly back to USA. We contacted the hotel and let them know the emergent situation and provided proof of the emergency. They charged us a two night stay penalty. I wrote personality to Nishat Laljee the reservation manager expressing the emergent nature. His response was cold and didn’t even acknowledge the emergency or offer any sympathetic tone: ‘ Thank you for the below email – As the booking was a no show there was a charge towards the same We truly regret to inform you that we are unable to refund the amount’. I wrote back that I hope his senior management trains him better in customer care.

I had a very disappointing experience at Taj. I made the booking through MakeMyTrip for a total of 4 rooms, including one premium room for my parents as it was their anniversary. I had already made a special request in advance to decorate the room for the occasion. However, when we arrived at reception for check-in, the manager said they were not aware of any such request. I asked them to please check the request mentioned in the MakeMyTrip booking. Additionally, my mother recently had an operation and cannot walk properly. I requested the staff to please provide nearby rooms for convenience, but they ignored the request and simply said that all rooms were booked. I personally requested them to adjust if possible considering her health condition, but unfortunately there was no support from their side. Even during breakfast the next morning, the service was very poor. The staff seemed uninterested and unresponsive. When I asked for tea, they kept saying “Sir, it’s coming” or “I’m busy,” but the service was very slow and unprofessional. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, which I did not expect from Taj Hotels. On the other hand, I would recommend Avatara Resort and Spa in Vagator. We stayed there for two days before checking into your hotel, and the service, food, and overall hospitality were truly five-star. Mandeep

We had a wonderful stay at Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa, Goa. We booked a Sea View Premium Suite with Exclusive Terrace & they gave us the best one- Room 311 .The suite was just perfect with a huge terrace with a spectacular view of lower fort aguada & the sea. The suite was specious with separate living areas like entrance vestibule, dressing room & washroom & bedroom. The bedroom had a big bay window with spectacular sea view direct from bed. The hospitality was awesome as expected from Taj. The property itself is beautiful. The staff made our stay special with their care. They even arranged for complimentary drinks at their most exclusive Hermitage Lounge in the evening. We tried all of the restaurants on the property and food was amazing. The buffet breakfast was lavish and widespread. We would definitely recommend a stay at this beautiful property in Goa. There is no better resort in North Goa. Taj never fails to impress and always provides the best. We will surely like to book with Taj again.

Poor maintenance and very shabby especially pool areas at this and sister hotel. Main restaurant cold and uninviting.

Having previously used oberoi hotels on visit to india ( all 6 we have trued exceptional and consistent) this time we thought we would give Taj a try. After our superb stay at the palace in mumbai ( see separate review) our expectations were high.on arrival you are met with the most amazing view and that really is what this hotel is all about. It took us no time at all to realise the hotel is shabby dirty and tired, not the experience we were hoping for. Having decided to change hotels the management convinced us to stay with some upgrades. It is clear that the hotel caters for Indian families rather than international guests looking for the luxury experience ( unlike the palace in mumbai which achieves both) Negatives: General disrepair of the property particularly pool areas. We used sister hotel ( village) which had an adult pool. The decking was filthy ( not cleaned during 7 days stay) and we saw it being swept once .only two umbrellas which were old and tatty as were the sun beds-the same is try at the fort hotel although i did note new umbrellas in place during stay. Lack of adult only areas -no where for atmospheric cocktails etc Lack of pride in the hotel by staff. Rubbish was left for days on grass, whilst our newly refurbished rooms was pleasant and general housekeeping good the terrace was never cleaned ( covered in bird poo) and the towels on terrace which had obviously been used by previous guests were not changed during stay. Even bench at end of bed was grubby despite only being 6 months old. All could be rectified by greater attention to detail Main restaurant cold and uninviting. And the once we used it food was poor Positives: Newly refurbished rooms were to high standard and in keeping Italian restaurant very good as were staff General level of service ( except on individual) very good J circle spa associated with hotel excellent SFX bar ok -could do with being adult only space but Tin absence of more atmospheric bar okay In conclusion a ok stay but not one we would tepeat and leaves me to question if we would use taj more generally in future given to inconsistency of the standard venues

My family is big fan of hospitality of Taj, no doubt whenever we visit the hospitality is great and surpases our expectations every time but this time the service particularly in the dining area was very poor, breads ordered took more than 20 minutes to reach our table even though the area didn’t had lot of guests at that time, food ordered for infant took almost 30 minutes and reach us by the time entire dinner or lunch was over, need to ask the attendant for dessert spoon which also took more than 10 minutes to reach our table, i mean i understand the situation when the area is full of guests but when the area has few guest and service level of this standard the entire experience is pulled down. If taj is reading i would like to attend to these issues so that no other guest feel the tajness going down in this fashion. Thanks

Lovely luxury stay at Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa in October 2025. Beautiful property with stunning sea views, warm hospitality, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. The service and overall experience made our stay memorable. ✨

The stay was amazing and the hospitality is a class apart! My only negative feedback would be for the breakfast. The breakfast area is too crowded and the buffet seemed very haphazard and not well manned. Probably it is because of less seating availability. Thankfully we stayed in hermitage villa so had access to the hermitage lounge where our breakfast was exclusively served and hence it was a good experience. But overall loved everything else about our stay.
