Charlie's El Nido

I wouldn’t stay there again. I’m not sure why but there is a heavy odour that is coming from downstairs. We booked this hotel because it has a gym but we were unable to use it simply because the smell in that area was unbearable. The chocolate in the room fridge they placed for a fee is covered in mould, like it is sitting there for years. We also didn’t have a hot water on the first day. Neither we had a good experience at the restaurant, staff forgot about our order, we waited nearly an hour to eventually have grilled squid to arrive uncooked. Breakfast bar is decent, lots of choices. The location is near construction site but there was no noise. It is 6 mins away from Lio beach that is very beautiful and has lots of restaurants. The hotel offers free rides to the town and to the beach.

Everyone is great. Especially Nace at the front office, she helps me a lot with regards of all my question, she helps me with transportation to med express, I highly recommend it. Breakfast is also good, everybody is smiling and there is a nice shuttle service going town and airport.

Lovely stay at Charlie’s El Nido Hotel. From the airport pick up until the end. We booked the Premier room for our family and we had a lot a space. The room was spacious and clean. Everyone from the Pick up, receptionist, restaurant and spa were delightful and dedicated. Nace from the reception helped us with our tour bookings and we enjoyed them to the bits! Abdul from the reception was kind enough to extend our check out time because we weren’t feeling well. James Paul & Lyn from the restaurant were always attentive to us and welcomed us with big smile. The breakfast team were also very kind to assist us when they saw we weren’t feeling well. And recommended hot ginger tea to ease our stomach. The housekeeping team also did a great job keeping our room clean and spotless. Our trip was definitely a memorable one and highlighted by the kind staff of Charlie’s.

Checking in was pretty seamless. They have shuttle service to pick you up from the airport which was pretty nice. Lio airport is 5 mins of a driving distance from Charlie’s. One thing to note, the property is about a 30-min walk to the beach. It’s not conveniently located on the beach. You have to consider humidity also. I didn’t see a lot of tourists walk to the beach. Most people use e-bikes and/or a tricycle/tuctuc. Amenities: the photos show an option to get a private pool in your room but really all they have is a private access to the pool for some rooms. The rooms are spacious but the AC doesn’t cool it off on a hot day. Service: was outstanding. If anything about this place, their excellent service balances out the other things that can be better, such as the food. Breakfast Buffet: was okay. I think they recycle food at times. I would rate the breakfast buffet a 4/10 as compared to food in hotels in Manila. They do the best they can. I’m also not sure how fresh the food is because we both got diarrhea towards the last 2 days of our stay and kinda ruined the rest of our trip. Bar: they have a 10/10 frozen Calamansi Margarita by Reven the bar tender. Gym: there’s a gym with limited upper body equipment and free weights. There’s also a yoga room. Jay-R from the front desk was very helpful and always went above and beyond.

Charlie’s exceeded our expectations. We stayed for four nights in a family room. Location: convenient! Close to the airport and to Lio Beach. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport and into town if you need. I’d read some of the reviews regarding distance from the Town. My best advice is to rent a motorbike! We were able to get one for~ $12 USD/day. Otherwise, you’ll spend a pretty penny and a great deal of time on tuk tuk rides. Breakfast buffet: some of the best chicken adobo I’ve ever had. They make omelets, french toast, and pancakes to order. Coffee is good, too! Service: exceptional. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We were celebrating our birthdays, and they arranged something special in our room to acknowledge and celebrate us. Every morning, afternoon, and night, we were greeted with a “Hello.” We appreciated this! They helped us arrange and reserve dinners, and were willing to help us book motorbikes and excursions. They even helped us arrange our transportation for our next destination. Gym: while only 1 tread and two other cardio machines, was sufficient. Other strength machines if you want to pump some iron! A very cute yoga room as well. Angie, Jai, Siorhan, Jay R, Lyn, and Kraster: thank you! For your hospitality, patience, and polite attitudes.

When my wife and I first got here they welcomed us with open arms. This place is very clean and relaxing. It’s like a dream. They went above and beyond with making sure we arranged all of our plans with tours and everything! Jazel, Angie, Mark, Lyn, Kraster, and Jai!!! If I am forgetting anyone, please forgive me but they are all! Awesome!!!

Our stay at this beautiful property was unforgettable. The close proximity to the airport and the convenient shuttle to El Nido town made exploring easy. Our poolside room was perfect for unwinding, and the buffet breakfast was a real highlight. The service was exceptional, making us feel truly pampered. One tip: due to the property’s layout (no elevator), it’s best to inform them if any guests need special assistance. Huge thanks to the amazing staff—Nace, Raster, Ms. Kat, Ms. Nina, Venus, Reven, Juvy, and everyone else. A fantastic experience we’ll always remember!

This hotel was absolutely amazing! For a 3 star hotel and for the price we paid, the service was incredible. The staff were so friendly and always took care of our needs and requirements (going above and beyond); the room was clean and the bedsheets smelt so good! It was close to Lio beach and the free shuttle service made it very convenient for us. This hotel is perfect for couples who are not backpacking and looking for somewhere quiet and close to the beach. We will definitely be staying again!
