Hotel Rival

Love this hotel! It’s very cool and fun. We had a room with a balcony with a gorgeous view of the square at Mariatorget - amazing location in the very hip south side of Stockholm. Lots of fun shopping- mostly vintage and second hand stores. They call it slow fashion. You can walk up the hill to an amazing lookout area with some ancient houses still standing. The hotel restaurants are really good and we met up with my family members from Sweden and Denmark there. The staff is great - really helpful. They even emailed me a few weeks before we went to let us know that my preferred room had become available and gave me a great rate. Anytime we ordered room service it was really quick and friendly . Breakfast buffet was wonderful . My husband and I love this hotel and we will stay there again

We had a wonderful 5-day stay at the charming and beautiful Hotel Rival in Stockholm. Rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff were the best - welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was always delicious. The hotel location is peaceful and fun, with easy walking to restaurants. We will be back!

Excellent hotel in very good trendy location near metro & bus routes. Funky decor in places but well appointed rooms, very good breakfast selection with a la carte options included. All wonderful but the crowning glory of this hotel is superb service everywhere, but especially the friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff at the front desk. They are simply awesome and the hotel’s best asset by far. Thank you for helping make our time in your city so memorable.

The hotel is lovely and on a pretty park. It has small tables in the front on two levels so that you can have drinks and food and look out. The staff is absolutely charming and cannot do enough to help with suggestions and advice. We had two meals there and they were good. The breakfast was amazing since they will cook to order as well as provide an excellent buffet. There is champagne available at breakfast. The place has a rock and roll vibe, not surprising since one of ABBA owns it, but also a little luxurious. We had a very nice bathroom.

We needed a twin room and took the least expensive, so one should consider that. There was nothing wrong with it--we even had a nice window, but it was a bit tight with a desk and probably meant for kids. Beds were short. There was a DVD player and music but a bit old-school. But really, no complaints.

I returned this week from a 2 night stay in the Hotel Rival in Stockholm and I only wish I had been there for longer. Myself and my friends were there for The Diamond League and had never been in Stockholm before but I will most definitely be returning. I did my research on the hotels and chose the Hotel Rival in Mariatorget and it didn't disappoint!!! The hotel staff are absolutely lovely, the breakfast was lovely and the Bistro attached to the hotel serves delicious food. What's not to like!! A lovely hotel in a really lovely area with great staff and everything within walking distance, I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Location is amazing. The staff are exceptional - they are there to help you with any thing you require and go above and beyond to meet your needs. The rooms are incredible. So inviting and so spacious- more like an apartment than hotel room. Everything is provided. The robes and towels are plush. The bathroom is fantastic. It offers plenty of room and there is even a bath ( a rarity in many hotels today). The bed is so very comfortable and the linens crisp and soft. The curtains are velvet and block out light to ensure a good night's sleep. Our room had a balcony overlooking the square. A wonderful sunny spot to sit have a drink and watch the comings and goings below. The creative decor and luxurious furnishings are brilliant - a home away from home. Nothing is overlooked. The rooms are spotlessly clean too. The breakfast is great and there is plenty of choice for all appetites. They also have great coffee! The bar and restaurant are also fantastic. We could only stay for three nights unfortunately as it was booked out for the five we wanted. I can understand why. Also great value for money. I know it sounds too good to be true but honestly I cannot fault this hotel. Highly recommended and we will be back. Thank you for making our first visit to Stockholm so wonderful.
