Grace Hotel Semporna

Hotel was basic but clean. Kettle and coffee in the room was a bonus. Room was clean and very quiet. We stayed here in order to transfer to Mabul for diving the next day so the location worked well. Staff were polite and helpful . I asked for an extra pillow and they happily gave me one.

Breakfast was at a local cafe and not good. I think their usual clientele must take things from the room as there was a rm100 deposit and a list of items and their cost if you took them. Not a positive start when you first arrive. Semporna is not somewhere you would stay unless you needed a dive transfer but the grace hotel was one of the better ones

Room was clean, had a TV, shower was good with good water pressure and hot water. Aircon was working well, and good location in town. Breakfast options were good - you can choose between 3 different eateries to redeem the breakfast voucher.

Walk in price is cheaper than booking here. Wifi was available, but was not able to access anything on the internet.

Pros : not many modern hotel to choose in Semporna town center this one centrally located, walking distance to many seafood restaurant, hypermart, seafood market that all. Cleanliness OK Cons: Small room. Aircon malfunction in my room. No shampoo and soap in my room Security : Card access to room only not elevator and hotel entrance. Good water pressure and hot water for shower. Breakfast they outsource to two restaurant nearby. not in hotel.

The hotel is located right in front of the jetty and close to everything u need, seafood, island hopping day trip & etc. Room is clean but is rather small is size, after open up 2 28' inches luggage, basically u didn't even have walking space. We stayed overnight for our onwards trip to other island, hence it's not a big problem of the small room space, however, i'll think twice to stay here for my next dive trip.

We stayed there for two nights as we had organized a day trip to the islands. The hotel is decent and clean. Wifi is OK. Good location as it is near to jetty, restaurant and here is 7/11 shop next to the lobby. The staffs at the counter were quite blur. We didnt manage to check in even tho it was already 230 pm. Reason being - room not ready. So unacceptable.

Much better from other hotel nearby. Spacious compare to its kind.

Advantages: 1. Good location just 10-50 meters from dive centers (Scuba Junky etc) 2. Attentive and helpful staff 3. Decent fresh room 4. Do not take % for payment by card (in dive-centers you'll pay 3% for that) 5. Cleaning every day. Every day change of towels, water. Disadvantages: 1. They do not allow to book a room without breakfast, but they send to a Chinese restaurant with a Chinese food only of such quality, that they must pay us to eat it, and pay really much! It was REALLY disgusting. We are really struggled not to vomit and, of course, we just lost money for the breakfast. 2. Local workers in neighbour restaurants across the lane every day from early morning to late night play guitar and shout very loud and nobody stop them. It disturbs a lot. 3. Three times I asked to clean the drain hole in shower cabin - they did it, but after 1-2 days it clogged again. 4. They do not strictly prohibit smoking. When once Chinese people came inside lobby with a fuming cigarette, they do not demand to stop smoking - I did it. In our bathroom through the ventilation every day came very strong smell of smoke, which filled all the room. It was really big problem. I asked staff to find this room from where it comes - they didn't do it. 5. Overpriced, I suppose. 6. There was no view from our window - just the windows of next hotel 10 meters distance Overall - good hotel, maybe the best option it that spot.
