Excellent place to stay enough to keep kids occupied without having to leave the premises

The location was perfect. Right on the beach a second away from the sand through multiple gates. So many areas to wash off sand before coming to one of like 9 pools? So many hot tubs. Never felt crowded, always had space for my family of 4 to swim and enjoy. The many hot tubs are a treat. So warm and relaxing. Many places to get food, snacks, coffee, treats. An arcade, a gym, laundry. The rooms are exactly what you see online. Our ocean view from the 14top floor was amazing. Washing up to drink coffee with that view was a blessing. The value for my family for a week was amazing, and so affordable. Staff was always so sweet and always a good morning and smile.

It was pretty good overall. I'm not the biggest fan of the smells. When I first got in my room I had to open the door to let it air out. Maybe a ear purifier in the rooms would make a difference.

The Good: Spotlessly clean rooms with zero bugs. Great ocean views and an awesome water park. The vibe is very safe and friendly, making it perfect for a family trip. My 11 and 13-year-old boys loved splitting their time between the pool and the beach. Kids loved the Arcade. The Bad: The hotel restaurant has good food, but the service is painfully slow—expect a 2-hour dining experience for a burger and fries. Pool maintenance also slipped; it went from clear on Monday to cloudy and sandy by Thursday. The handle to our sliding class door fell off day one, but it was easy to open without it, so I didn't bother to get it fixed. Good to Know: This is a no-frills, DIY hotel. Housekeeping is by request only. If you just need a safe, clean base to sleep, it gets the job done perfectly. Check in is across the street and also was slow. Parking is fine, just take it slow in the parking garage because it's a little tight. I brought my Tahoe and it was fine. Don't be afraid to explore the area. They have plenty of spaces for families to park and have fun.

We were shocked that in all the times we had visited Myrtle beach we had never heard of Crown Reef until our friends told us! We love it and will return! Location was wonderful and check in was a breeze as was checking out. Thank you
