"Check out the lobby, but stay elsewhere"

Built in 1892, and it shows. Lobby is lovely, and bed mattress was comfy. However, bathroom needed serious upgrade, and only one ice machine in the entire hotel (the front desk had to give us a map to find it!). Bar and restaurant are closed on Sundays. Early morning desk clerk could not have been more surly when we asked if we could get a cup of coffee. We ended up checking out at 6:30am to find someplace that had coffee and food. Won't try here again .

Our experience at the hotel was profoundly disappointing and has left my family and me quite disheartened. Upon our arrival, we encountered the front office clerk, Indiana, who displayed a considerable lack of professionalism, contributing significantly to our unfavorable impression of the establishment. Upon entering the rooms we had reserved, we were confronted with conditions that fell far below acceptable standards. The rooms were not only inadequately cleaned but also showed signs of pest infestations, with roaches visibly present in various areas. The linens were stained and unkempt, and the bathrooms were poorly maintained, lacking basic sanitation. This unsettling environment greatly compromised our comfort and overall sense of safety during our stay. Ultimately, this experience overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable family trip, leaving us frustrated and dissatisfied with our choice of accommodation.

"Weekend getaway "

Wonderful historic hotel in downtown Americus. Plenty of places to shop and eat nearby. Just sitting in the lobby and enjoying this hotel was a lot of fun.
