Economy Inn Monterey

No tv at all spotty WiFi horrible parking reservations should be refundable should not even be an option on orbitz very disappointed

You get what you pay for. I was not expecting much for $49, and was not disappointed. Beds are ancient, as is the room. Everything was clean and safe; that was all that mattered to me for a quick night's sleep. I would not make this part of a longer term vacation though.

I've stayed at the Economy Inn several times in the past few years. It is an older establishment that can be an "adventure" sometimes. They have recently made some noticeable improvements , such as replacing the old mechanical door locks with modern electronic locks, and upgrading the televisions. I always expect a few difficulties, but it does seem to be gradually improving over-all . For example, the hair dryers have almost always been non-working in the past, and yet my room had a fully functional hair dryer this time 😄 The outside of the building also has a new coat of paint. If they're not careful, the Economy Inn might gain a star or two eventually .

1 out of so many electrical plug-Ins worked. No plastic or paper cups. Iron was broke. Stuff under bed.

Good small hotel

Small parking. Outside of hotel looks updated but rooms in poor to fair condition. Says it's a non-smoking room but smells of stale smoke. Okay part of town. Close drive to beach. Friendly front desk guy.

Staff were surprised I came to check in at 20:50 pm, heating in the room did not work and It was cold during night, internet hardly worked.

Very dirty and neglected, very out dated and needs new bedding/towels! Very stained!

DO NOT STAY HERE! Here is a list why: 1. Room stank like cigarettes 2. Toilet had urine and toilet paper in it. So bathroom was not cleaned. 3. Bedding had cigarette burns. 4. A/C unit had mold and dirt all over it. 5. Chain on door had been kicked in. 6. Basic run of the mill tweaker hotels. 7. I am embarrassed that they even show as a possibility to stay at on EXPEDIA'S list of hotels.

Not a clean recommended place to stay. Oven and heater was not working at all
