Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Yorkville by IHG

I booked a 2 queen bed suite and was put in a 2 queen standard room. I was very understanding that they were over booked and only requested a refund of the cost difference between the 2 rooms. I was told a manager would take care of it. I called corporate after I was told twice I would receive a refund and didn’t. Corporate emailed the manager. I called the hotel 3 times and was told the manager would call. It’s now been 3 weeks with no refund or call from manager. The front desk attendant argued with me that I was in a suite. When I requested she come to my room to see that in fact it was a standard room she continued to tell me I was wrong. I didn’t see the attendant once stand up from the chair she was sitting on. It was clear she was too lazy to stand up.

The front desk was very friendly, the room was quiet, very clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. They had a big variety of items to choose from even little cheese omelets!! The best continental I have ever had at a motel. Definitely would stay again.

Can't say there is anything I did not like.

I was there for my sons soccer tournament , the front desk guy David was on top of everything he came fixed our tv our air condition wasn’t working some how he got it goin , this guy was running up and down all night I’ll give him a lot of credit for one person handling a full hotel . Thank you David you made it feel Us like we were home

I booked a room at Holiday Inn Express in Yorkville, IL through Booking.com on September 14. The booking screen said my card wouldn’t be charged, but it didn’t clearly state the reservation was non-refundable. After realizing this, I called the hotel within two hours to cancel and left messages throughout the week, including with front desk staff. When I finally got through on September 19, I spoke with Front Desk Manager David. Unfortunately, he was very rude and dismissive, interrupting me and telling me I was “wasting his time.” I’ve been a loyal IHG member for years, earning points and free nights, and always try to book directly with IHG. I had even planned to book for my birthday next month, but this experience has made me reconsider. Customer service like this is unacceptable and disappointing.

Property was quiet and safe. Room was clean but the building and lobby smelled like chemical or paint thinner.

We only stayed one night, but the service was really good. The rooms were cleaned and nicely decorated. The morning breakfast was good. Good location, with many restaurants in walking distance.
