Park Royal Beach Huatulco

The room was very pretty and super clean, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well and the view of the bay was fabulous. The housekeeping replenished water and coffee daily- and having a coffee maker was necessary! The trolley used to go from room to lobby to beach was a lifesaver otherwise you need to walk straight up the hillside! The A la carte restaurant serving breakfast at building 7 saved going down to the beach on the trolley for breakfast each morning and the food offered was better.

Getting to the beach (and to the only buffet restaurant) was inconvenient, having to use a trolley that was at times erratic. The hotel is not a beach hotel… it has beach property 2 streets down that you need to travel to get there. Once there there aren’t enough loungers on the beach, which wouldn’t happen if they didn’t allow selfish people to claim loungers at dawn and then never actually show up to use them for the entire day. The buffet restaurant served the same everyday and there wasn’t much choice. The snack bar offered 3 items, hamburger, hotdog or tortilla chips… Didn’t bother with reserving the a la carte evening restaurant as heard the food wasn’t good and had to be booked at the lobby at a certain time on the day of. The biggest let down - paid to have an ocean view room- it was a lovely room with a gorgeous view and a large balcony -but not a stick of furniture on it… took me asking 5 of my 8 days for 2 lounge chairs - finally threatened to drag out the sofa before they brought some. So was only able to sit outside and relax on my balcony for 2.5 days. The whole point of my holiday was to enjoy the sunshine and relax away from noise. I think the front desk staff could’ve done a better job trying to accommodate their guest.

Wonderfully quiet resort. The morning breakfast on the sixth floor restaurant is such a nice experience to start your day.

Access to beach was far. Beach access on itself was small and outdated. Umbrellas and chairs were less than desirable. The “entertainment “ was subpar. Boring and tedious. Extremely difficult to make dinner reservations. They require for reservation to be in-person . Front staff mentioned it was only open to 20 guests… they had 200 at the time.

As an all inclusive hotel, this property offers extremely limited options outside of their dinner buffet. You need to stand in line each day to make a reservation for one of their two dinner restaurants. We stood in line one day and didn’t get a reservation because there were all taken. The property is worn down, limited beach seating, and lacks food and entertainment. The beach requires cross a major road to access. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Hardly anyone spoke English, resort didn’t take credit cards for tours or in their store. Beach and pool was a ways away, they did have golf carts to take you though.

Decent for price

Not enough Carts, take forever specially to pick up from beach, they have 3 restaurant, one was under remodelation and for some reason they closed the other one so the only restaurant was packed... you need to wake up early to make your reservation everyday at 9am in case you want to have dinner at specialty restaurant
