Thames Inn and Marina

Sam was accommodating and super helpful with EVERYTHING. The units are like small apartments and they are within 10 minutes in either direction of all main attractions and the property sits quietly along the Thames River. Clean, quiet and decent prices.

The water view and location

The property was partially a rented out complex with certain rooms being hotel rooms. I also felt uneasy walking by myself.

Run down dump

I’m not sure why this hotel has an average user rating of good. The property was poorly maintained, with trash and junk strewn in the front. The room was barrren of furniture except a bed, table with no chairs, and a precarious TV balanced on a chair. The floor was dirty underfoot. The hotel would not answer their phone and had no message service. The checkin hours are inconveniently limited to a 3 hour window. It faces a loud street and the door lock did not feel sturdy enough for the look of the neighborhood. Honestly, we have nothing good to say. For over $200 a night, I expect more.

Location...I had the end upstairs room...Oh the views were amazing...

There was a little mix up with the room after I checked in another women came and said it was her room..It was fixed but I kinda felt like I was in the wrong somehow..

We had a great 5 night stay. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Our room was very clean; sheets, bathroom, towels. No complaints. Great location for visiting New London and the shoreline areas. We liked the vibe of the place, but for people who need something more luxurious, it might not work. The hotel is a bit run down, as is the marina, but it was perfect for us for the price, and we will stay there again when we are in the area.

Some of the other reviews were pretty bad, so we were not sure what to expect. Our stay was fine; people were friendly, we never felt unsafe. Other reviews had mentioned lack of kitchen equipment, etc. We brought a few extras that we might need, but Sam was very clear that if we needed anything, we just had to ask. Everytime we saw her, she asked how things were and if we needed anything.
