Occidental Cala Viñas

I'm a restaurant manager for a 5 star hotel in the south of England, I came to Cala Vinas for 4 days last week with my wife and 2 year old son. What made our trip, was the service... but I will go into more detail at the end. Food: We had half board, breakfast and dinner - it's a buffet with a huge selection and every evening every section has new and different food. The food actually blew me away, I've never in my time had such tasty, varied food in a buffet. Each dish would have been good by itself a'la carte but as a buffet, honest very impressed! The dining area is very nice with an outside area and beer/wine/drinks on tap. Rooms: The rooms were not bad, spacious and with a balcony. Bedrooms have a superking bed which was massive, the rooms were nothing to get excited about but very decent. We requested a cot for our son by phone the week before departure and were very pleased to see it in the room, no reminder nor issues. Very good! Hotel facilities and pools: The pools were both stunning. Well kept and both far enough apart that they had their own vibe, the one by reception being lovely to take our son with the park and children's areas and the other for later in the evening, more wild and with access to the beach a literal minute to the left, super cool! I will say that the hotel was a bit tired and old in a few areas, the lifts broke down for the day on our 3rd day and the arcade machines / vending machines either didnt work or were a bit naff, but we didnt travel to Spain to use the children's arcade, so it's not the end of the world. The shop could do with being open longer, we ended up going to the little shop right behind the hotel which was open past 9PM Location: Absolutely stunning... literally on a small beach of your own. SERVICE: For me, my wife (and my son Oscar) the service was what really made it for us. All the staff were absolutely on point, every single time. I would like to make special notice to Pilar the restaurant manager who was phenomenal! From our very first evening she would interact and talk with my son, and every evening and breakfast during our stay she would come and say hello - remembered my son Oscars name and would always have a cute interaction with us. Pilars service felt personal, and to remember my son's name after only asking us once was impressive considering there were easily 200 guests over each breakfast and dinner. I would also like to mention the waitress Tania who was absolutely lovely with Oscar. Tania didn't speak too much English but would pick Oscar up, give him a cuddle and play with him for a quick minute. These interactions made our visit personal. Thank you Pilar and Tania. Best place to go with kids, really friendly staff and there is around 70% of clients families with kids

Really lovely hotel, brilliant views & really nice food, the restaurant manager was fabulous, always on scene making sure everything was running efficiently, such a brilliant choice each night it didn’t disappoint. The entertainment staff are great and work so hard. I would definitely stay again

Die Zimmer waren sehr hellhörig, sodass wir kaum schlafen konnten. Beim sogenannte Schlafsofa im vorderen Zimmerbereich war es besonders laut und zudem war das Sofa extrem unbequem. Unter den Betten selbst war es sehr schmutzig, aber auch im Bad lagen überall Haare, und obwohl wir sie demonstrativ vor dem Regal platzieren, wurden sie von der Reinigung nicht entfernt. Beim Spa-Bereich war zwar angegeben, dass eine Zusatzgebühr zu entrichten ist, aber 20€ pro 90 Minuten ist meines Erachtens unverschämt! Generell war alles, was von Qualität sein sollte nur gegen Extragebühr zusätzlich zum bezahlten All Inclusive Package erhältlich. Das Essen war zwar reichlich, aber meistens das Selbe, kaum gewürzt und ideenlos. Leider war auch kaum Landesküche dabei. Den erwähnten Fahrradverleih gab es leider auch nicht, und es wurde uns auch keine Unterstützung bei der Suche gewährt. Der angrenzende Strand ist öffentlich und somit sind die Liegen dort extra zu löhnen, ansonsten ist dieser aber sehr nett und besser als da laute Animationsprogramm am Pool.

It’s at shore, calm location, good entertainment for kids

Vegetarian foods are not considered itself its difficult when you are vegan. Still staff will prepare some food for you when you ask them

Wunderschöne Ort.

I really love this hotel and have been coming here for the second year in a row. It is located right on the beachfront, offers stunning views, and what I appreciate even more is the way the staff treat their guests. Everything is done with such care and warmth. When you arrive, you truly feel welcome and valued. A special thank you to Sergio for making the stay even more enjoyable.

There have been some issues with the sewage system, and occasionally there is an unpleasant smell. However, I believe this will be resolved in the near future.
