Castle at Makahuena at Poipu

We really enjoyed this 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo right on the edge of the coast! Out one side of the condo we could see the sunrise, and out the other side we could see the sunset! It also worked out really well for having our 1-year old baby sleeping in the guest bedroom (crib supplied by hotel staff) either for naps or going to bed early. The breeze off the coast was nice and cool throughout the condo, and we enjoyed going to bed to the sound of the ocean. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating to our needs/wants. This was the best service we have received on any of our vacations! The kitchen was nice and well supplied. We went to the local grocery store and bought food for meals and baking, which saved us some money from having to eat out and made some fun activities. My wife had fun preparing some local meals using local fish and produce while I enjoyed baking. With the condo being in Poipu, we were able to see a lot of things on the island. We loved walking just outside of our condo to see the waves hit the rocks and splash up in the air. We could find sea turtles just a few minutes away. There are a couple nice beaches for a half-hour walk in either direction (or a few minutes drive). The Old Koloa Church was also nearby and we had wonderful church services for the 3 Sundays during our stay. Being in Poipu also enabled us to take trips in either direction on the island for tourist events (West Side or North Side) all within a 1.5 hour drive.

These are condominiums, little older buy kept up to date. If I go back to Kuai I would defintely hope to stay there again

We're a family of five on our annual vacation. We stayed 8 days at the hotel. Kids loved the pool and star gazing at night. The hotel closed to everything in the south. We enjoyed all the beaches, especially hideaways beach at st Regis, plus the road trip to waimea canyon. Wish we could stay for another trip

Staff is wonderful and very accomodating. We did not like the first unit we were placed in. Spoke with the staff and manager and they placed us in a beautiful unit that fit us to a tee for our 2 week vacation. Pool is refreshing, and beach and hiking are with in walking distance. We sat on the rocks right on the complex and actually saw sea turtles, fish, and rays. So beautiful in Poipu. Sunset from complex is absolutely amazing. You can hear and see the ocean and waves from your unit. Very soothing. Love it here. It was our 5th time staying there and will definetly be back.

Ok. Room had minimal ocean view over fairly noisy pool. Was called ocean view , but not really. Overpriced for experience.

Magnificent, spacious, comfortable, incredible views... We arrived around 7pm and did not realize there was no one on site after 5pm. I had to call emergency number to find key. Besides that perfection.

good price for area. Ground floor is below ground level. Staff nice. 2 bedroom was nice. No verizon cell service in room, got phone to work by tennis courts. No phone or alarm clock in room. Older property.

Our room had a very nice layout and was definitely ocean front. The twin beds were like sleeping on plywood. The mirrors in both bathrooms needed replacing. There was a significant amount of debris and dirt on the floor of the closet.
