Hotel Avenida Gran Via

The property was right on the grand via and close to shopping and walking distance to a lot of the sights. Many restaurants around and right next to the hotel there is a coffee shop with pastries and sandwiches. The rooms were also very clean and tidy.

The hotel was situated in an idea central area for sightseeing, bars, restaurants, shopping and entertainment. The staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. The room was fine, fresh towels everyday and quiet at night. Could have used more drawer space, mattresses were very firm and although very clean it needed a little refurbishment.

I love the location of the hotel. You are in the heart of the city center. Everything is walking distance from the hotel. The room had all the amenities I needed.

Central location ( fab location ) hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. Windows were good at keeping the sound out, for the price we paid we thought it was a bargin.

Great hotel in Madrid downtown near of all important attractions by walking or subway stations nearby, staff is helpful and kind always. Room are small but comfortable, quiet at night which is hard to find in downtown Madrid, certainly i will stay there again in my next visit and will suggest to my friends

The ONLY good thing about this hotel is it's LOCATION!!!! The service desk lady wasn't friendly at all. No mini bar fridge in a 3star hotel (as it's expected)! I won't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I needed an inexpensive hotel very near Callao, and that is exactly what I got - Callao is just 2 minutes away. For the price, it was what can be expected. The staff were very friendly and the room was nice and clean. It's true that the beds are hard, maybe too hard for some. Also true that the interior of the room is showing a little wear. The floor is plastic veered wooden parquet, and in certain areas, water has got into the interior of the parquet panels and made them swell up in places. It's just an aesthetic issue. This is a common problem with parquet, in fact it makes you wonder why hotels use it, especially in bathrooms! However my priority was location and I was thrilled to be right off Gran Via, on a small side street that is nonetheless fairly quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

Holiday to explore city. Good location as its close to transport and in between shopping area and "old" town area.

My wife and I are seasoned travelers who prefer small, local hotels over giant chains. We just want a clean, convenient room with comfy bed because we're not going to be in the room much. At a good price during a peak tourist week (EU Gay Pride was being celebrated when we were there), it was a bargain. We were in Madrid for a nephew's wedding, and decided to make a 10-day vacation out of it. Terrific staff, short walk to major museums and to major venues, easy access to most Madrid subway lines. If shopping is your thing, lots of stores including Corte d'Ingles within a block or two. The picture shows one of the larger rooms. Ours was tight but we expected that. Lots of noise from outside as Gay Pride peaked, but quiet inside. The hotel is a few doors off of Gran Via, a major Medrid east-west street that is undergoing construction for the next year or so, if signs are to be believed. So far enough from the mess.
