"Good"

We were unable to sleep for a while, next door guest dog was barking for most of the night. Also, the tea kettle was dirty and no water to make the tea. When I went down and asked, the told me to buy a small bottle for £2.50.

Great hotel clean rooms, friendly service, value for money and good breakfast although didn’t use it personally pool area looked nice and popular Free upgrade to a sea view room was also appreciated One to watch is the car park does tend to get busy and is tight for larger vehicles and if you don’t book directly with the hotel £12 a night (not bad for Bournemouth prices to be fair) Would stay again if in the area

"Good value but not perfect..."

Overall, the Ocean Beach Hotel provides good value for money, except for the high daily parking charge for residents. The reception, restaurant and house keeping staff we interacted with were all polite, helpful and efficient. Our room rate included breakfast and dinner. The food was very good generally and especially the fish dishes, although a few dishes had a tad too much garlic and we had a fire breathing chilli con carne one evening. Use of the facilities in the neighbouring Suncliff and Cumberland hotels is a good point. We stayed in a room which had been refurbished (it was not clear how long ago). However, the standard of workmanship was very poor with paint splashes on the wallpaper, headboard, mirror, tiles and switches, and most fittings were secured wonkily. These give an impression that the work was done on the cheap. Finally, the radiators in the third floor corridors were on throughout our stay which made them and the rooms very warm most of the time. Ours had a large desk fan to help cool it. Our expectations of the hotel were not high but we would probably stay there again given the good value it provides and pleasant staff.

"Not elderly or disabled friendly"

This hotel is in a superb location opposite the sea with stunning views to Boscombe and Bournemouth. The hotel itself is not at all disabled friendly. Upon our arrival we noticed that there wasn’t any slope for wheelchair or walker access. My husband is disabled and this was a shock to see. We was However offered to use the chair lift (like what you would have indoors) but my husband did not feel confident using it. When we checked in a lovely young chap came and carried our cases to the reception area. We got the lift to the first floor to be welcomed by a staircase which we had to use to get to our first room. We was very disappointed in this room and Luke kindly moved us to a nicer room on the second floor meaning the stairs wasn’t as bad. The staff in the restaurant were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was enjoyable. We had a walk to the sister hotel as they offer “entertainment”, if there’s enough guests to warrant them getting someone in. After 2 days of our week holiday we decided to come home. Luke did offer to move us to the Cumberland Hotel but by then we had had enough. I am only writing this review to advise people that we don’t feel it is disabled or elderly friendly. Can’t thank the kindness of the staff enough, especially Luke.

"Probably wouldn’t stay again! "

We were told on leaving that we had received an upgrade room. The room was on the 4th floor and without air con, it was like staying in a sauna, considering the extreme temperatures experienced during our stay. We also had to pay for onsite parking at £12.00 per night, this did not guarantee a parking space! costing us an additional £36.00. I informed the hotel before arrival that my wife has a gluten-free diet but all that was provided was some gluten free bread! No gluten free cereal was available for breakfast!

"Good"

The room was absolutely boiling hot so we barely slept. The room also really needed some updating, it was very run down. Our room was not cleaned for any of the days we stayed (4 days, 3 nights in total). The reception staff were not particuarly helpful with getting us fresh towels etc after our room was not cleaned. For the price, it was not worth the stay.

"Not the best experience by far!!"

The bed was very uncomfortable, very firm and uneven. Mattress was very dirty. Seems like every floor board is broken, causing noise from upstairs bedrooms till early hours of the morning. Limited on site parking.

"still have my money!!!!!!"

stayed at ocean beach from the 4th to the 6th of April, upon check in our group needed to put a card on file for a £100 security deposit which we was informed would not come off the card provided, I gave over my card instantly the money was taken and upon check out on the 6th I was advised that it would take 2-3 working days to return to my card. fast forward to Friday the 11th of April and still nothing has been returned to my card, spoke to the hotel and the management wasn't back in until Saturday the 12th and asked to call back then, spoke to management on Saturday the 12th and they advised me that they couldn't do anything today as the banks are closed and advised me to call back on Monday the 14th of April fast forward to Monday the 14th of April spoke with management from the hotel and was advised that they needed my card details to confirm what card it need to go back onto (even though I only gave over 1 card upon check in) today is the 16th of of April, I have spoke to my bank which and they have advised me that there is a hold on the payment until the 2nd of may.....2ND OF MAY! over a month after staying and checking out of the hotel they still have my money on hold until the 2nd of may, this needs to be sorted immediately, I want this money released to my account today, I was advised it would be 2-3 working days to go back onto my card after them telling me that there would be no money taken let alone a hold till the 2ND OF MAY. called and spoke to reception this morning and management isn't in today.... what a surprise, I WANT THIS DEALT WITH IMMEDIATLY

The appearance of the hotel did look nothing like what in the website the Outside need a well-deserved facelift The room and the view was nice except for the mattress, it seem quite old, it had a big dent on one side , the bathroom was very nice, spa was nice and the staff was very nice, overall I had a good time
