The Royal Beach Hotel

well appointed hotel, lovely spacious room. very helpful staff.

On arrival was given a small room so asked if there was any way we could upgrade. We were moved to a much bigger room with partial see view at no extra cost. Excellent service.

An old seaside hotel of former glory but still kept clean and recommended the sea veiw would stay again visiting our Portsmouth friends 😊😊

Whilst the hotel itself is old, and this comes across to some extent in the decor and general condition, I nevertheless consider this a fantastic hotel to stay at - the location, facing the beach, is superb, the food (especially the bar food) is surprisingly good, the price is very reasonable, and the staff are all amazingly helpful and generous.

Pro: friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room. Con: the facility is tired and worn out.

Expedia's listing showed this hotel as having a laundry, which we took to mean guests could use it. In fact the hotel offers a laundry service only.

One night stop over to visit family before Christmas. Perfect location for our needs. Grand hotel opposite sea front. Could not fault it at reasonable cost.
