Oranmore Lodge Hotel, Conference and Leisure Centre

We stayed here for our anniversary and booked a suite with the dinner package. Overall we were really disappointed and this was certainly not a 4 star hotel experience in any way. Positives - staff were nice and food on the evening meal was good. I don't think the room should be classed as a suite and it was generally really basic. You have to pay extra for robes and slippers in a suite apparently. Shower pressure poor, cracked tiles in bathroom, dirty shower head and tap, empty shampoo and shower gel tube, very dated bathroom. The view from the view was terrible, no room service, no directory in the room with hotel information. Breakfast was awful - the food and portions so disappointing and incorrect order. Dinner was chaotic, felt bad for the staff and clearly under resourced to deal with the numbers. We have to come back as no tables free. The pool and leisure center was old and dirty. That place needs a really good clean. Dirty plaster next to the hot tub, pool water freezing, changing rooms were something out of a horror movie and felt generally very unclean. Staff decided to take the temperature of the water of the hot tub while we were in it - so odd. In terms of this hotels offerings and facilities - it's definitely definitely not value for money or a four star offering. So disappointing.

Room was fairly outdated. Bathroom shower drain was clogged, so you ended up standing in multiple inches of water to “wash”. Hours of pool and spa facilities was so short, we never got to use any of them. Worst hotel we stayed in while touring Ireland.

My third visit . Hotel is excellent from the superbly comfortable and spotless rooms to the hospitality of the staff. I ate in the bar and found the food excellent. I'm make no excuse for recognising that the charm of this hotel is in its excellently trained and dedicated staff and it's obvious emphasis on a great guest experience. I will be back regularly travelling for business.

Ok start on the positives. Room was very spacious and spotless clean. However it was stifling hot and could not sleep as a result! Realised when we got up at 5am with not sleep that radiators were turned up top. Unbelievable uncomfortable. Has booked 4 course meal as part of package B&B and evening meal. Starter was OK both main courses were inedible. Breakfast following morning just awful. All the hotel staff appear to be 14/15 years of age but presume they must be a little more. All young staff ‘headless chickens’ but not their fault as didn’t appear to be any management. Will NEVER stay here again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone to stay. We stayed at the Oranmore Lodge Hotel, Conference and Leisure Centre for 3 nights. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not without its shortcomings. The hotel is set in a (once) beautiful Victorian-style building with real character, but unfortunately, much of it feels dated and in need of a full refurbishment. The suite I stayed in had no real view — it looked directly onto the leisure centre, which was disappointing. Cleanliness throughout the premises could be improved, and common areas weren’t particularly well maintained. While the hotel is positioned as good value for money, it ultimately fell short of expectations. You’d be better off staying at a solid 3-star (newer) hotel for less — or if you're after something more special, consider paying a bit more for a true 4-star or castle experience in the region. With some investment and attention to detail, this hotel could really shine, but for now, it doesn't quite hit the mark.

Disappointing. WiFi extremely slow, food low quality, dry turkey, lumpy porridge, limp lettuce and grey cups of tea. Air con blasted on at 6.15 am both mornings unnecessarily. Strange attitude from some staff. Wouldn't stay again. I'm not a serial complainer.....

The hotel is beautiful

Loved the place and room. It was awesome. Unfortunately they were understaffed to accommodate our evening meal and we ended up leaving and going elsewhere to eat after waiting 30 min without being attended to for even a menu..

Close to Galway.
