Castle At Kona Reef

Location was great. The ocean front view and ocean crashing was amazing. Apartment complex itself had outdoor grills by the pool that we took advantage of.

We found 14 cockroaches in 5-day stay. In the bathroom and kitchen mainly. We made sure to throw out the food trash everyday but this was concerning. We also found mold-looking thing in the hallway closet. Looks like no one had opened the closet in a while. The unit itself is not well maintained. The handle was coming off of the microwave.

Superb 1br condo on the West shore, next to Honl's Beach. Ali'i Drive is a bit noisy, but, otherwise, the facility was well appointed, super clean, and in a good, central location in Kailua-Kona.

Management took good care of us, we had no ongoing concerns.

Hi, all in all the appartment the view and everything was perfect also very easy to get in the appartment with the code. But the day before we checked in the hotel gave me a hard time because of my service dog and this was not ok. They stressed me the whole day about it even I let them know I bring my device dog 3 weeks or more in advance. And then out of a sudden I don’t receive a message back and I came to big island with a usury feeling if we are welcome at the resort or not. This was not ok everything else was very good!

The service dog situation and communication

We could sit out on the balcony and watched the ocean all day and night. Very close to everything like shops and restaurants. Very comfortable and great bang for your buck.

Next to the Honl beach, but alot of rocks 🪨 on the sand. Can get injure.

Room size smaller, not open floor plan and kind of tight walking around inside apartment. Bedroom closet doors are blocking walkway when opened. laundry closet doors poped out to hallway due to laundry and water heater installed inside closet. Bathroom wall has some hole and bad patched up. The Honl beach has alot of dead lava rocks. My daughter got scratched on the leg and bleeding by those rock just playing on the sand when the wave moving in. Small wall AC unit only cool a little bit in living room not bedroom.
