"Lajitas is a must. Put it on you bucket list."

10.0

If you are looking for an experience of a lifetime, go to Lajitas Golf Resort. The room accommodations can fit anything you are looking for from a resort. They even have a charter airline service to get you there. The amenities are awesome. Besides playing golf on one of the most beautiful courses you will see, they have horseback riding, gun range challenges, swimming for the kids, and much more. On top of all that, you can hike Big Bend National Park and Big Bend state park. The mountains are fantastic and mind blowing. This is a great place to vacation. You will love Lajitas and everything you see around it.

"Biggest disappointment of Big Bend trip"

4.0

After five days riding motorcycles around the Big Ben area and staying in budget accommodations, we decided to spend more money for two nights at what was advertised as a four-star resort, expecting a higher standard and a chance to recharge energy. This was a mistake. This property is clearly misrepresented. It does not meet four-star standards in any way, yet it is priced as if it does. Charging guests premium rates for a product of this quality is unacceptable and misleading. If they would charge the price of a two stars hotel, then it would be just ok but the resort is outdated, the rooms are old, there are no smart TVs, there are barely any functional outlets, and the bathrooms are small and inconvenient. Cleanliness was also an issue, with visible dust throughout the room. To make matters worse, there is no elevator and no assistance was offered to help with luggage. After a long day of riding, having to carry heavy bags ourselves was exhausting and completely unacceptable for a property claiming this level of service. We have stayed in accommodations in Marfa for less than half the price that were equal or superior to this place. There is no justification for the pricing here. This was the biggest disappointment of our Big Bend trip. Guests are being misled. It is a rip off.

"Great place in an incredible location"

10.0

The golf resort is unique place and a unique location. The site is an easy drive to Big Bend National Park, if you want to make a trip there to see the park. Something I would recommend. The golf course is an excellent course, not terribly difficult tee to green, big wide fairways, while the greens are a challenge. They are fast with undulations. The course is lovely to play, each hole is almost isolated from all the other holes by the canyons of the area. You often feel like you are the only ones on the course. The course is in excellent condition, and the staff very helpful. My best suggestion is to book early in the year, because this is the desert, and it will get hot. It was in the 90s in Feb, though we were told this was a "hot" week. The hotel looks like an old Western movie stage set. With multiple buildings looking like a Western town. We stayed in the officers quarters, excellent modern room, clean with great views. There are multiple places to get something to eat from a casual bakery, to a bar to a more upscale restaurant. All first rate. Another caution. Some of the rooms are on a second floor, none higher. There are no elevators, and while the hotel will provide a porter to help with the luggage, the tiny young women they provided was not much help getting the bags upstairs, simply because of her size, she tried. We just did it ourselves rather than put it on her to do it. Bring bags you can take up a flight of stairs.

"Best part of Big Bend Area"

10.0

Touring Big Bend and added Golf outing. LaJitas Resort was beautiful. Layout is unusual and walking is involved, but it worked out ok. The room in Calvary was spacious and well appointed. Housekeeping could a better job on the dusty blinds and wood work, but overall it was clean, nice linens, comfy beds, cozy, and quiet. Chose to not dine at the reservation only dining room, but snack at the Thirsty Goat bar. That was a winner, outdoor and indoor tables. great service. The pizza was fantastic. Went to the Boardwalk bakery for a fresh cinnamon roll for breakfast. it was tasty. Golf was a nice outing!

"Fun on the Range"

10.0

My son and I had a great time at the Cowboy Action Shoot at the Lajitas Golf Resort. John was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who did a great job instructing us for using the range and firearms. We did the Combat Course on a previous visit and really enjoyed that, so we thought we would try the Cowboy Action course this time. Now I know that I love, love, love shooting the lever-action rifle. And this course is good for even a novice shooter as there are plenty of target options. I foresee us booking a range experience the next time we visit.

"Unforgettable Texas scenery"

10.0

Memorable sunset trail ride with an excellent guide in the desert and a wonderful golf course. The stargazing on the lawn was amazing, love waking up in the desert and seeing Big Bend National Park (hiking was awesome). Next time, would try the State Park right next to Lajitas too.

"Not a Luxury Hotel"

4.0

I was disappointed with my stay at Lajitas Golf Resort. While the bed was comfortable and the grounds gorgeous, that was unfortunately the only positive. The room in the Cavalry Post was extremely weathered. The walls were beat up, furnishings worn, and overall it felt tired and neglected. The bathroom was especially bad. The hot water did not work, which made showering miserable. The Duraflame log provided for the fireplace put off so much smoke that it was difficult to breathe, making the room uncomfortable rather than cozy. On top of that, there was no clear or easy way to get in touch with the front desk when we needed help extinguishing the Duraflame, which was very frustrating. This resort markets itself as a luxury destination, but my experience was far from that. The condition of the room and lack of responsiveness do not match the price point or expectations of a luxury stay.

"Great way to spend an evening"

10.0

Staying at the RV park and needed some activites. Sunset trail ride always fun. I was picked up from my RV site and taken to the stables. Guide was very informed, horses did a great job of climbing and desending the rough, rocky terrain and the views were spectacular. Added the cheese tray and thoroughly enjoyed snacking on my cheese and berries while watching the sun sink behind the mountains.
