Nutshell-Airport Retreat by the Sea

Cute bright room with balcony entrance, convenient to the airport. Cool Heritage vibe through out the house, didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment, super helpful friendly owners. Gave us a lift to the airport which was great.

Aircon dripped on bed head, nothing that we couldn’t handle and it was hot!

The staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast was nice.

The beach was dirty and littered, rats and cockroaches directly outside the property. I witnessed a resident throw glass bottles on the beach! It is so sad they treat their city like this. Air con was loud so made it hard to sleep as-well as someone checking in the next room at 1am with the staff member and guest being loud not being considerate for other guests. Not much around the location either. So sad because the staff of lovely but this stay was not worth £30 a night!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Since I was leaving before breakfast they gave me dinner on the roof terrace. The property is very close to the airport so leaving for an early flight was easy particularly since transport is provided.

Although close to the airport there is nothing much else close by. The beach is filthy which is a shame since the view of the sunset was beautiful.

Very kind staff! Transport from airport to Hotel worked perfectly. Also, the communication beforehand. Nice, clean, and colourful little Hotel.

Only the beach was dirty, but this is not the fault of the hotel.

From start to finish I was pleasantly impressed with the service this hotel provided. I have recommended them to my family and friends, and will be using again. This hotel is 10 minutes walk away from the airport but the hotel owner would send a driver to collect you as part of your stay. All my requested were met and the staff were friendly and helpful. I couldn’t stay for breakfast but the staff packed me Marsala tea to take with me. The place is so convenient and safe

That I couldn’t stay longer

Very close to the airport and drop off was included. The sounds of the waves from the beach were lovely. The room was comfortable and clean, and good breakfast options. The Old Coffee House restaurant isn’t far and a good place to eat. Owner was helpful with queries. Nice toiletries.

The beach suffers from littering, despite apparent efforts from the owner. A great shame as has such potential. A neighbour also decided to burn some rubbish on the beach whilst I was staying which meant the accommodation and my room was filled with bad smelling smoke. No efforts to put it out. So the surrounding aren’t always ideal. Also was disappointed that the son of the owner knocked on my door asking for money at 10:30pm when I was trying to sleep for an early flight and had texted his mum agreeing to pay at breakfast the following morning. No apology from the son for disturbance. Weird vibe.
