Sheraton Samui Resort

The hotel is located in a very nice place. The hotel premises, tropical greenery, well maintained, beautiful and clean beach with excellent hotel services. The hotel receptionists are very attentive and helpful, as are the other staff. Thank you very much again!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be shared. The property does not match what is presented online. The photos and descriptions give the impression of a modern, accessible beachfront resort, but the reality is very different. The hotel is built on a steep hillside with extensive stairs everywhere, making it extremely difficult—and frankly unsafe—for families with children or elderly guests. This was never clearly disclosed prior to booking. The rooms were outdated and had noticeable odors, far below what you would expect from a Marriott-branded property. Additionally, the beach access and conditions were not as advertised, which was a major factor in choosing this hotel. What made the situation worse was the handling upon arrival. We were asked to sign the receipt and complete check-in before even being shown the room, which is highly unusual. Once we saw the actual conditions and immediately raised concerns, management refused to offer a reasonable solution or allow us to relocate, leaving us stuck in a property that did not meet expectations. To be clear, this was not about minor inconveniences—it was about material misrepresentation and suitability issues that significantly impacted our family stay. Very disappointing, especially given Marriott’s reputation. I expected a level of transparency and customer care that simply was not delivered here.

What a stunning place, people were amazing. Good food, great service and excellent staff.

Everything was just what I was wanting.

Negative • We had a spa booked, when our massage started there was a small child crying hysterically next room to ours. Small children perhaps under 8 years should not be allowed in spa therapy rooms while parents are getting a massage disturbing other guests. • Spa therapists who are not feeling well should stay home and not be massaging guests wearing a mask, with runny nose. • One of the days at lunchtime at Blue Monkey no staff to be seen anywhere, guests sitting at tables for a while, nobody coming around with a menu, guests asking to see a menu. There were 3 staff standing around doing nothing on their mobiles in Long Talay restaurant and not 1 table with guests in Long Talay restaurant. • Beach chairs uncomfortable, they don’t have cushions. • Beach boys sitting on white wall doing nothing, no towels available in shelve slots. I stepped into child care centre looking for laundry bags on the floor I opened one to get a clean beach towel myself. • If hotel is renovating in the near future, please consider moving spa to a more quieter area of the hotel. Currently there are rooms above, hearing furniture being dragged while getting a massage isn’t ideal. • When hotel was The Imperial there used to be an outdoor massage area next to beach, where the child care centre is. Please consider bringing it back it was fabulous. Sheraton losing business to the Thai Massage on the beach towards New Star. It would be nice again to have the option of having a massage by the beach, rather than having a massage in air conditioning as the only option. • Hotel rooms, and restaurants are in need of desperate renovations. They are outdated. • At breakfast, a staff member cleaning table next to our table happily spraying all over the place sending spray to our table, my husband was eating a plate of fresh fruit in which we ended up leaving it behind as it would’ve been contaminated with cleaning spray. • We understand gardener needs to do his job and it is a big property to maintain, but does he have to be sweeping outside right same time as we’re eating and having our breakfast. • We ordered fish tacos, it came with huge thick pieces of fish tasted terrible. A fresh fillet of fish hand crumbed and placed inside these tacos would’ve been much better and tastier. Positive • Lunch at Blue Monkey is good. Thai food is excellent. Service is fast and efficient. Sukit and Pim are wonderful staff, a pleasure to have them each day serve us. • Pim at front reception is also wonderful. • Buggy service at Sheraton is excellent, a big Thank you to all the buggy drivers they are doing a great job. Especially Teerapan who we’ve known for many years. • Spa treatments and experience is excellent, a special Thank You to Fah, Nut and Kat. • Thank you to the beach boys, especially Sumet for looking after us each day. • Staff at breakfast are excellent and very hard working. Thank you goes out to Savitari and Jitima. • Great to see manager Preecha helping out at breakfast and lunchtime, he is very hands on and supports his staff. • Beach Umbrellas are excellent, they provide excellent coverage from the sun and good size. • Love the treats that come around now and again on the beach complimentary watermelon, or finger food.

The Sheraton was a fantastic place to stay at for a relaxing holiday. The staff were friendly , helpful and always happy. The place is dated and needs an upgrade , but the staff made up for it. The breakfast was the best I’ve had at a resort . We have stayed in many resorts around the world. The food was always fresh and cooked to perfection. The restaurant at the beach was also fantastic. The place was always clean and the rooms served everyday to a high standard. The reception staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The pools were clean and serviced every day. We will be back again 😀 It was great having the buggy to get us around the resort without having to climb all the stairs. Fantastic beach and a great location .
