Hyatt Place Daytona Beach-Oceanfront

Will 100% come back for charles the lobby bartender. Super nice and helpful guy, 10/10 made my vacation what it was. Hyatt, this guy deserves a raise!!!

Great location, fantastic staff, all amenities available, restaurants and shopping close by. Oceanfront, just steps to beach. Quiet and safe area.

The room was a bit outdated. The ac vent rattled, there were a few wall outlets without covers, the toilet didnt work (we requeated assistance and got it fixed), and there was a large wet spot on the floor. The hallway was very warm, almost like no ac was on.

The breakfast was great every morning. Beach access and pool access was perfect. The staff was nice and hotel was as clean as it could be.

I didn't like that they had no room service or housekeeping for extra towels.

We stayed here 3 1/2 years ago before hurricanes Ian and Nicole came through. It was a great property at that time. We were looking forward to returning after the pool was rebuilt, but sadly we were disappointed with our experience. The staff was nice enough, but it appears that upper management were cutting corners in every way possible. First, the interior hallways were not air-conditioned. That can be a minor point but during the summer I think it will be miserable. Our room definitely smelled of mold in our rooms and AC did not work properly… in fact it was muggy and damp the whole time we were there (room 712). The breakfast sorely disappointed. This is not the breakfast that it used to be. It actually was a lot worse than some of the Choice hotel properties we stayed at as well as the Holiday Inn express. The furniture in the dining area was old and tired and showed lots of wear. It could use a pick me up. There were no chairs or tables out on any of the balconies and when my husband inquired about it he was told it was the general manager’s decision not to have them there with no reason given (apparently the staff member was incredulous as well). The pool area is really nice and I’m guessing that the rebuild was handled through insurance and federal grants etc. due to the hurricane. But they skimped on the seating and the umbrellas. Lots more umbrellas this time, but they were cheaply made and in need of replacement or repair. There were fewer chairs, which was surprising. During the summer, the pool will be overrun with people not having anywhere to sit poolside. There were no microwaves in any of the rooms where I could reheat my dinner from a couple of restaurants we ate at nearby. On the first night, there was a microwave in the breakfast area but it was not there for the last two nights we stayed. Hopefully these reviews will be taken seriously and this hotel can be brought back up to the high standards it was held to prior to the hurricanes.
