La Creole Beach Hôtel & Spa

The property, pool, and beach was well kept and beautiful. My room was nice. But was disappointed with the way the bathroom was maintained. Depending on who was cleaning my room, some days the shower was cleaned properly but some days, nothing was done, just the towels were changed. Also, had an infestation of large ants on day two of being at the place. The overnight staff appeared overworked or stressed, making it hard for them to be pleasant to English speaking guest. Overall, I had a great time in Guadeloupe.

Rooms and grounds are lovely, clean, no mold or cigarette smell in my non-smoking room. Food was good and plentiful, especially at Zwagat, which I much recommend. Beach was ok, better ones are walking distance away. No reef. No fish. Lots of iguanas, which was interesting. Expensive breakfast and buffet. Get much cheaper and better food a short walk away in town. Unhelpful staff - hard to get coffee refills, asked concierge for help for an activity two days away, but we never got the information requested, concierge did not book correct bookings at first and needed to be corrected. I am sure some of this is due to our inability to speak French, and that it was challenging dealing with a family of eight people. But even then, at check in there was a mixup with booking using an online app and they didn’t accommodate the guests at all, just made us pay more. They refused to give me the room I booked. I booked two beds so my nieces can come to my room and not be in their parents’ room some nights, but they insisted I have one bed because I am one person. Someone else’s bags were placed in my room. Elevator was broken and I had to walk five flights for two days. No apology, no accommodation. Just very expensive room. Won’t be back, but love Guadeloupe and hope to return.

Upscale beachfront resort with central location and friendly staff.

My first room didn't have a shower and overlooked garbage. I couldn't believe it. The hotel had a bathtub with a hand spray and no hook to hang it. Then the hotel gave me a wheelchair accessible room with low counters. A third room had a broken a/c that leaked water all over the floor and little ants. The manager of the hotel Alex evades guests with issues. Do not stay here.

The staff was very kind and the room was ok, but clean with a nice view of the ocean. Surprised how large the hotel was. Good pool and decent beach for a swim after day-long excursions. Several of restaurants in walking distance.

We hoped the experience would be great but the check in process was a nightmare. We booked a room with two double beds and were given a room with a king bed with no mention of the change. We came back to the desk to ask for the correc bed type and then were given an alredy occupied room. I was told I needed to change before coming to breakfast but there was no sign to say my cover up skirt wasnt appropriate. I was also told a few minutes before breakfast clsoed and offered no flexibilty to enter even a minute late after going to change. Overall, the staff was rude and unhelpful. I understand the language barrier but would have loved if people were more willing to help or explain policies/amenities or room adjustments. The experience was dissapointing and I would not stay again. The facilities and rooms were ok but the service is what made the experience one of the worst I've ever had at a hotel.

Overall we had a great stay at La Creole! The people of the hotel were always smiling, welcoming and ready to help. Room with balconies aren't really full balconies, just enough room to stand outside the sliding doors. Meals were good, especially the Zawag, a la carte restaurant but the options are limited between this and the buffet at night. There are, however, a few casual restaurants on the street a few minute walk away from the hotel. Wi-fi worked fine for us, even for streaming live video content.

It’s a sprawling resort with multiple buildings, restaurants, and terraces. There is a big pool and a small but very pretty beach. The bar next to the pool is large and very pleasant, and they have often live music. The breakfast in the morning is massive with many different buffets. The staff is very polite and friendly. It’s primarily used by French tourists, I did not eat dinner at the hotel because there are lots of little restaurants nearby with delicious creole food, though the wait time to get your food after you order it is over an hour!!
