"Waste of Money"

2.0

The room is old. The sofa bed is brutal. I would have been better off sleeping on the back seat in my truck. To charge $685 for to nights in this type of room is robbery. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my enemies. The room needs some serious upgrades.

The property was dirty. Stained carpet in hall ways and suite. Suite dust and dirty. Sofa so dirty you could not sit without putting a towel down. Sofa cushions slanted you could not sit on it without slidding forward. Coffee table sticky and scratched something you would find at the side of the road for free. Broken tiles in elevator. Housekeeping staff making rude comments about guests.

It's a good hotel for the price. It's in the Upper Village, so you do need to walk a bit to get to the main part of the village, which I don't mind. Staff is friendly and willing to help when needed.

"Read carefully when you book a room "

2.0

We arrived to a terrible room with a pull out couch which was the only bed in the room. It was uncomfortable poorly padded and impossible to sleep in it. The condition of the room was dated old kitchen and borderline for a highly rated hotel. We requested to be moved to another accommodation which took some time and several phone calls. Not a great start to a long anticipated expensive vacation. The management gave us option to go across the village from Blackcomb into Whistler which was also unacceptable as we normally chose Blackcomb ski in ski out accommodation. Eventually they found a room at the Aspens which was excellent and we moved there the same night after 2 hours of distress and worries about having our vacation ruined. We have stayed at the glacier lodge many times in the past and never had something so poor. To keep its good reputation the resort quest should repair and renovate old units. Pull out is really not appropriate for such an expensive accommodation as the glacier lodge. I would likely not go back, but would definitely consider the Aspen’s as a better hotel for the price. I would say read carefully if it says a pull out couch you might as well bring your own sleeping bags or consider the experience close to camping but at a hotel price. Management was excellent to deal with this and help us move to a better accommodation.

"Good location, nothing else nice to say "

Dirty and loud. Mostly grossed out by hair on the pillowcases and “clean” towels.. the shower mold wasn’t THAT bad.

"This is a 1 star hotel which needs a major reno"

2.0

We stayed here 2 nights. I travel a lot for work and I am not fussy but there is no way this hotel should be rated 4.2 stars. My speculation is that people who own time shares here prop up the reviews. Seriously this hotel hasn’t been renovated in 20 years. Very old kitchen (the stove was older than my parents), old bathroom, old CRT TV, no service to the rooms unless you stay 4 nights or more, old furniture. Other than the location there is no reason to stay here and pay $500 plus a night. My honest two cents.

"Perfect location, ski within minutes!"

10.0

Very impressed with our room. Beds were super comfortable and room was a nice size. The hotel is in perfect proximity to blackcombe mountain, we were on the ski lift and up the mountain within minutes! The area near the hotel is nice and a lot quiter than the whistler village (which was only a 10 minute walk to).

"Large half-suite with great location"

8.0

I was attending a week-long bridge tournament next door at the Chateau Whistler, and saved $60 per night (off the Chateau's special rate) by staying here instead. Skiers would love this place -- chair lift a half-block away, just past Milestones restaurant. Liquor store in same building, underground parking $15 per night. The Chateau provides continuous all-day free shuttle to Lower Village. My ground-floor room was a bit quirky because it was really half of a larger suite. I had a full kitchen and large dining area, but heavy furniture blocked access to the wraparound deck and to half the linens cupboard. Murphy bed very comfy. Coffee and tea fixings provided, and I saved $ by having breakfast and lunch in my room. I did one main shop at the IGA downtown and also used the convenience store just across the street from the hotel. Overall, I loved the room and the location. Not many interactions with staff, but found them more than satisfactory. I didn't use the weight room or the pool, but others did. I appreciated the recycling area in the parking garage. Maid service every fourth day, which is fine with me. I would happily stay here again at a similar price.

Room décor could use some updating and the appliances need replacing but it had everything we needed.
