We were apprehensive about our stay given the disparity between reviews. That being said, we’ve booked to return at the end of June. It was a cheap and cheerful self catering holiday for us as a family of 4 (2 boys 10 and 12). The room was a bit outdated but the sheer volume of clothing storage space won my heart and I was happy to overlook the decor. We had the mindset of as long as it’s clean, we’re happy. Our cleaner was lovely, and did a great job of keeping the apartment bug free. Minus the occasional ant, which you expect. We stayed in a beachfront apartment, ground floor. This was prefect as the kids went out on the kayak or paddle board or messed around at the beach most of the day and we could potter about in the sun nearby within view. The onsite shop is well equipped and the location isn’t too far out, a lovely walk up to either of the squares. Lidl is a €6 taxi ride away so we did that trip the following morning to stock up On essentials and topped up at the Hyperdino’s remainder of the week. We were in BF4 and have requested this room again for our upcoming stay (we’re hopeful to get this)! We’ve stayed in lovely 5* hotels in the past but now prefer self catering due to the age of the kids and this is a great base for this type of budget holiday. Staff were lovely, Noel always smiling and dancing, Lido staff were super helpful particularly with my son’s sesame allergy. We were a little disappointed to find there were no loungers around the poolsides but we will look to get up early and go to Lido pool this trip, I did miss a swim. I hope this has been rectified as it’s a huge missed opportunity for the hotel in my opinion. (I’m thinking send a drink server round there to take cocktail orders and the beds would pay for themselves in no time 🤣) We found no fish hooks or rubbish in the beach but kids did get a couple of minor scratches on the rocks and I’m pleased to report they are fit and well after a week of paddling in the water. P.S a place to play a bit of football would be perfect… we asked if the kids could use a tennis court for foot-tennis but were told no. Shame. I shall report back again after our next visit in June.

Overall I think this hotel needs a big change. We checked in about 8pm everything was normal, one pool was closed, nothing to worry about so we walked to our apartment. At first it looked beautiful, clean no dirt or anything. But as soon as you go to the kitchen, it whent downhill. The kitchen cabinets were poorly placed on the fridge was disguising. The floor was covered in dust and bits of wood. And then the next day we woke up to smelling smoke! The apparent next door was bought and decided to do some work in it so the whole apartment stunk. I had to complain and we moved to another apartment near the beach. It’s okay. But overall I am disappointed with this island I won’t be coming back to the country or the hotel.

Really very disappointed that Jet2 are still listing this resort. Another guest showed us an article which was In the local news that the resort has had problems since 2017 and had just been sold in the last couple of weeks. It’s obvious that hardly any maintenance has been carried out since then. We paid for a beach front apartment as my husband has mobility problem. These apartments are not described as being one lower apartment and one upper. Very misleading lack of information regarding this. Unfortunately we were allocated an upper apartment up 20 very steep stairs. The apartment was in very poor condition, sofa very dirty, kitchen units in a bad state. The patio was not clean, flaking paint on walls, broken tiles and dirty greasy glass balustrade. I requested a change the next day to a ground floor apartment and was given one on Montana, told there would not be any refund in cost as it is a cheaper option from what we had booked but I didn’t care as long as we were in a more accessible area. This apartment was no better, again dirty sofa and chair which I had to cover with beach towels as wouldn’t sit on them, kitchen units in very bad state with laminate coming away inside and chipboard swollen with probably water leak. Dishwasher didn’t work. The view from bedroom window onto the ground at the back of apartment was disgusting. We twice had to report cockroaches in our apartment and insects coming from the overflow in the bathroom sinks. The patio had paint flaking of the walls, the table was so old and dirty that I had to clean it as best I could. Shocked when we saw the date the fire extinguisher was last checked as it was March 2020! It was all rusty and it wax quite scary to think that it would not have been any use if there was need to use it! One sunbed allocated for each apartment even if it sleeps 4. We moved to this apartment on the Sunday, pool cordoned off on the Monday until we left 12 days later. On asking management a few times why, the reply was that they didn’t know!!
