Sands Beach Resort

This is a difficult review as there are some reasonable features and some poor ones. We decided to try it out as an alternative. very large complex but pretty poorlt laid out. entrance is impressive but tends to decieve. due to its side and possible turn over it does feel a bit neglected and in need of some TLC. we had two apartments and furniture was so distressed it should have been pensioned off. one apartment had difficult sliding doors and even when one was locked, it was easy to just slide the door open....so no real security. cleaning service was good suprisingly the place, despite its size was nearly empty. no sun loungers around the pools and those ones provided to some apartments had seen better years. now to food.....we had breakfast included and this was pretty mediocre what was supplied did not suit some of us. one night we decided to try the buffet dinner, and my only advice is do not try it. amout out was miniscule and chef was at a grill , frying tiny pieces of pork, so pretty poor choice. yes there were some other dishes available, but nothing outstanding. when leaving that night, we were asked did we like it.....to which we replied no and would not be back. their concession was not to charge for two soft drinks that were not even included in the basic cost! so we got 10€ off a 90€ cost.....and at least one of our group had not eaten a thing ! desserts included small pieces of cake....a cube of around 30 ml all round. then we went to the lido. we ordered two plates of chips and two sundaes. the kids how to wait over 20 mins for the chips and only got them after we complained. and then only one sundae arrived. i waited and waited for another while and then asked where it was....eventually it came after everyone else had finished. not acceptable service. overall, for us apricey holiday which was not really enjoyable. i will have to return to my previous favourite in costa teguise

We stayed in an upstairs apartment on the beach front. It was a really good size with a separate bedroom, a well equipped kitchen and a good shower room with a separate double sink area. The apartment was very clean when we arrived. There were a few downsides. The apartment was only partially cleaned once as the cleaners kept arriving around 6pm when we were having showers and getting ready to go out. Also the exterior lighting wasn’t very efficient. However the good greatly outweighed the bad. Had a lovely holiday.

Buena ubicación y apartamento amplio.

En el apartamento número 27 en Montana la pierta principal casi no se puede abrir o cerrar, la corredera esta totalmente rota, tenia un olor a cerrado impresionante. Muchos interruptores no encendían o apagaban nada, los enchufes del lado derecho de la cama no funcionaban, las puertas de la cama abatible correderas del apartamento ni se movían y había una luz en su interior que no se apagaba , estaban en muy mal estado. No había agua caliente en el apartamento, la nevera estaba amarilla y con las juntas llenas de moho, las bisagras de las puertas de cocina oxidadas, las dos claraboyas con moho, tanto la del baño como la del pasillo, uno de los plafones del baño estaban colgando. Pase por la recepción para avisar del agua caliente y nos dijeron que lo miraría el servicio técnico pero nadie solucionó nada ni se disculparon. Jamas lo recomendaría ni volvería.

Mixed feelings on this one. The good . . . Pulling up the outside is beautiful. The man on reception was lovely and we were checked in quickly. The reception could be really grand but it’s very odd with lots of random plastic sofas and sports memorabilia. We upgraded for £200 to a beach front apartment and it was right on the end of a row. This was an absolute treck with cases. The room was nice - old fashioned but a lovely view. The pools are well maintained and the lido was very pretty. €27 taxi from the airport and a 20 min walk into the main square The bad . . . Cleaning - we didn’t have the room cleaned properly once in the week we were there. On day 3 we asked when someone was coming. They turned up at 6pm the next evening while we were getting showers and just left us fresh towels. They then came in the day once, however the beds were not changed and while the floor was cleaned, they brushed all the dust etc into a pile and left it there. They then came again once more at 6pm and just gave us towels. Turning up at such a time was often uncomfortable as everything was half ready or in a towel. The lighting - we were right at the end of the beachfront row, and in the evening it was pitch black down there. There’s a doorway leading out to the sea again in darkness and I won’t lie, I felt uneasy walking back to the room at night as 2 women and a child. I think more lighting and a door on the doorway would be good. Overall I’d recommend here as there was more good than bad!
