Hilton Omaha

Perfect for us this holiday Christmas! Started as a surprise weekend for the two of us, with a twist. Flew my daughter in to suprise her, the airport made that easier! The restaurant staff were able to make reservations for three while my wife was telling them two from behind me...great restaurant & exceptional service especially for ciliac/gluten diets! We were expertly taken care of starting at the evening meal and later the breakfast meal too! Great food, we had the prime rib, salmon & filet to start, a few other extras & desserts. Pool, hot tub, sauna all great, quiet , not cold pool! Well equiped exercise area too, if ya do that. Rooms clean, quiet, lots of hot water. Ask if ya need anything they will handle it! Things to know, if your name is not on the reservation you wont get in! Daughter booked it for us, she had to add my name so i could register. This didn't tip off the spouse though cause my daughter often books things for us. Parking is enclosed but getting things into the lobby from a car is away from the front door as shuttles are directly in front, for lots of airport service. I understand but did not care for that, made for confusion on where to park at the start of our visit.

Waited in line for almost an hour to check in. Only one person checking people in. I was almost late for my concert.

Coffee shop on first floor is top tier.

This Hilton, in the heart of downtown Omaha, stands out as one of the best. I very much appreciate the clean and modern room as well as the new? restaurant which specializes in prime rib. But what really brings me back is the staff. Everyone I encountered was genuinely kind and welcoming to me. I even had the pleasure of being welcomed back by the same chap who picked me up last time I was in town, Ken Smith. He made me feel like an old friend. Hospitality like that is a rare thing these days. -John

Location

For the price....the room was blah. Very dated and pain was peeling on the bathroom walls. Looks like some poop stains on the wall. The AC was not working well in the room. I was just a little shocked for a Hilton and the price....I expected more. Yes your right next to CHI but save some money and get a hotel a block away and enjoy a walk and talk.
