Quinta Da Casa Branca

Quinta da Casa Branca is a fabulous small hotel. Everything about our 7 days spent there in February was perfect. It is set in beautiful gardens full of specimen trees and plants from around the world, maintained by a squad of gardeners. You wouldn't know that outside the hotel walls is a busy city. All the staff were consistently helpful and friendly and everything is kept immaculately clean. The two restaurants serve very good food, one fine dining and the other less formal. There are also some good restaurants within a few minutes walk outside the gates. We stayed in one of the Manor House suites with numerous balconies on 3 sides overlooking the grounds. It was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The location is very good, a few minutes walk takes you down to the centre of Funchal.

Excellent Hotel set in beautiful gardens, with high standards of service.

Accommodation is in separate building to restaurants. Inconvenient if raining, but hotel does provide umbrella in room. Changes in level and some uneven paths make it less desirable for anyone with impaired mobility.

Very beautiful gardens. Very calm. Helpful friendly staff. Other guests friendly. Large swimming pool. Good breakfast. Good location.

Gym needs upgrading. Needs a larger outdoor patio for breakfast. Some hovering guests waiting for an empty table is off-putting. Breakfast room is small.

A beautiful location, ingeniously designed and set out. The gardens were gorgeous and the sitting and sunbathing places good.

Der Garten ist ein Paradis und sehr gepflegt. Auch der grosse Aussenpool ist toll und beheizt.

Die Gartenzimmer und das Hotel im Allgemeinen sind stark renovierungsbedürftig. Auch der Wellnessbereich müsste dringend erneuert werden. Er entspricht eher einem 3 Sterne Hotel.
