Kimpton Hotel Fontenot by IHG

Our stay at the Fontenot was outstanding on all levels. From the front desk to the bell desk, the service at was top notch. When was the last time you stayed at a hotel and the employees seemed genuinely happy to be there? We stayed in a spotless spa suite that had tons of room and a beautiful view. I especially appreciated the bedding and fluffy towels. We enjoyed drinks at the Peacock Room and pastries at Gospel Room- both were excellent and a good value. The location is superb- close enough to everything, but still quiet. This is understated luxury at its best. Worth every penny!

Kimpton brand hotels are my favorite in the IHG family. New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the US. Pairing them together was perfect! Stayed for our anniversary and got top-of-the-line service. We did have a room issue upon check-in, but it was rectified immediately, and they topped it off with an apology treat. Our bed was comfortable, the tub in the bathroom made for a great soak - when we received the proper tub stopper. There was more than enough room to relax in our 1-bedroom suite, and we took full advantage of it for the week we were there. While checking out, the hotel was inundated with three wedding parties, yet they still found time and energy to ensure that we were pleased with our stay. I will always check here first whenever I plan to visit New Orleans. We were only steps away from the French Quarter, and everywhere we wanted to go within the city was accessible by trolley or on foot. October in New Orleans is still quite warm, so be prepared for that if you're from a colder climate, like I am. Our suite was part of a connected room. Usually, this annoys me, but I don't think we had anyone in the adjacent room the entire week we were there. The hotel provided Wine Down Wednesdays, nightly happy hours, and three different restaurants to choose from. If we didn't want to leave the hotel at all, we still would have had a great time.

Loved the atmosphere and location

The location is awesome for a family. Close to the French quarrter but not too close. Close to where he of our favorite restaurants (Cochon Butcher). Easy walk to the trolley, pharmacy or grocery store. From check in with Stormi who was very kind and patient explaining to us all of the different amenities of the hotel, to the staff at King Brasserie, everyone is so friendly. Loved our stay.

This hotel is modest, clean, with kind and helpful staff and is in a great location. We had a breakfast option included that was very generous (still trying to lose those pounds). The accounting for the breakfasts is not well worked out. Let me rant about the $30/night “amenity fee”. An amenity should be something optional, but this is not. The price you thought you paid for the room is increased by $30 per night no matter whether you used an “amenity” or not! In the interest of honesty and transparency why not just roll the $30 into the daily rate and avoid the ire of every guest who sees they are paying more than they expected?

Very clean environment, very friendly staff, and accessible to so many places. Semoj is one of the best you will run into! Not once, not twice, but THREE times they have made me feel welcome and ensured maximum comfort during my stay. The front desk will set the tone for your entire stay and thanks to Semoj you will be coming back anytime you visit NOLA!
