Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge

There was a wedding on the one night we stayed and they put us in a room directly above the reception, with two young children. We checked in after hours, so had to find a manager in the the bar to ask if we could move rooms. After looking for ages she told us there were no other rooms to move to. But the receptionist on check out was lovely about it. Beautiful surroundings and nice breakfast on the deck.

Nothing needed to stay longer

We had a great stay! The beds were extremely comfortable. The outlook from the rooms is gorgeous. The restaurant was great. We had both breakfast and dinner and both were delicious.

The ceiling needed to be dusted as there were bug remains attached. It was a shame the pool isnt heater given the size of the property, solar heating to take the edge of should be easy. It was a shame the bar was only open in tbe evenings and there was no where to buy drinks on site (alcoholic or non alcoholic). In leui of the bar being open a vending machine would do. We asked reception for a walk recommendation. They recommended the fire trail but neglected to day how steep it was! Not appropriate for a post partum person. We walked down to the trail and had to turn back. A short walking track even around the grounds would be a lovely addition. We ended up going for a walk at the dam which was much more suitable.

Although the rooms are a little dated they were super clean and comfortable. The views were spectacular. The staff were all wonderful and friendly. We used the tennis court and swimming pool.

food could be improved - my order was missed altogether and then seemed stale when eventually received. We were there for a relaxing quiet weekend and our neighbours in next units above and beside both had kids and were very noisy. (especially on a Sunday morning)

The restaurant unfortunately didn’t meet fine dining standards that are advertised on their website for dinner. The breakfast wasn’t much better being $40+ per person. It didn’t have much variety. It was hard to find staff for a proper barista coffee.
