Agapi Beach Hotel is a truly beautiful place with a vast territory. This was our second time staying here, and once again we were convinced that Agapi stands out from many other hotels—above all, for its comfort, cleanliness, friendly staff, variety of delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere. Different cuisines were offered on different days of the week, and musical evenings were organized regularly. It is also worth mentioning that even the hotel manager greeted guests every day with a smile, accompanied by his warm “kalimera” and “kalispera.” The guests here were also noticeably different—mostly families and generally very polite. I believe this already speaks volumes about the high standard of the hotel. Many thanks to the management for their excellent service. There are plenty of options for relaxation at the hotel. Various restaurants serve refreshing drinks and cocktails, delicious ice creams, and a variety of pastries throughout the day. When the sea is calm, you can enjoy the beach; and when the waves are stronger, you can relax by one of the pools, listen to pleasant music, sip drinks, or take part in the activities organized by the animation team. A few words about the animation team: it consisted of five young people—three boys and two girls. My son loved spending time with them and taking part in all the activities. He played table tennis with Maria and even chess with Leo. The whole team was educated, well-mannered, kind, and patient. We are especially grateful to them for the fun games and the unforgettable positive energy they shared.

A very enjoyable holiday although a couple of areas for improvement as flagged further below. Impressive hotel with well maintained grounds. Room was more than fine (already set at perfect air con) with a sea view and regularly serviced throughout our stay by the always efficient and friendly Zacharania. Plenty of beach sun beds and for those wanting to get away from the sand, one large rather lively swimming pool and two smaller quieter ones. Staff in all areas (especially, Daria and Evi - reception, Maria (a human Cretan version of Speedy Gonzales), Niki, Gressi and Yannis - main restaurant, Vana - Italian, Vaso and Ariana - Greek taverna, Yannis - beach bar) were excellent with a great ''can do'' attitude. As for improvements - 1), whilst the food in the main restaurant was good and varied, you had to queue refectory style to go past every dish on offer which could take a long time and also meant it was hard to know what options were available until you had reached it or gone beyond it. It would be better (if space could allow) for there to be separate serving areas for different types of foods. 2), whilst the Italian Speciality restaurant and the on site Greek Taverna were first class, the off site Petousis restaurant (one visit permitted for all inclusives) was truly terrible. Whilst marketed as a Cretan taverna, it was in effect nothing more than a roadside eatery. My wife's pasta was served cold and upon this being pointed out, the exact same plate and food was returned a few minutes later having obviously been put in the micro wave. We then realised we had been put in a smoker's area as people on adjoining tables lit up. We hadn't thought to ask for ''no smoking'' - so perhaps our fault there although we thought it would have been appropriate for the lady in charge to ask as she seated us. The same lady showed little sympathy for this or my wife's meal when we left early. The hotel needs to either sever all links with the Petousis or seek major enhancements to its food preparation and service urgently.

Spa staff very friendly. A La carte restaurants were nice

Main restaurant was absolutely heaving and you are rammed in like cattle. Can not stand up without knocking someone else’s chair. Food in main restaurant is almost all uncovered and saw many flies buzzing around the food which was very off putting. You had to pay extra for bottled water and for orange juice at the bar, which is crazy considering this is a ‘premium’ all inclusive. You have to book the A La Carte restaurants several days in advance, or you are stuck with the main restaurant food, which is not great if you are not staying very long. Sunbeds were very thin, again not giving any level of luxury, and getting sunbeds around the pool was impossible unless you woke up early and left your towel on them, like everyone else seemed to do. Ultimately I just thought this was not great value for money, and coming here for our honeymoon we were pretty dissapointed.

Just returned from a fantastic 10 day stay at this beach side resort, we completely fell in love with its Greek charm. The hotel hold Cretian traditions and values close to their hearts, this was very evident to see. We stayed in a Side sea Garden room, set around one of the small swimming pools and our friends stayed in a sea view hotel room. Our room was very comfortable, with lovely views of the gardens. If I was to ‘nit pick’, a full length mirror would have been useful but otherwise, we were well catered for. Our friends room had been newly decorated and was very comfortable. The All Inclusive buffet restaurant had a wide variety of delicious food (including themed nights), you certainly wouldn’t go hungry. As well as, an Italian a la carte, a Mediterranean a la carte and one visit to a traditional Greek restaurant about 10 minutes from the hotel. We enjoyed meals in all of them. The staff were very attentive and polite and the managerial staff were always on hand, (very often stepping in to help staff). On our last day we were especially grateful for the use of a room to shower in, as we had a late night flight (no charge) and large lockable suitcase lockers were an added touch on checkout. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel for another stay.
