Mahogany Hotel Residence & Spa

We'll located, amazing beach, clean and the very helpful and friendly. Service is very good. Food is good too nothing to complain about. Very good choice for your vacation in Guadeloupe. We book our excursions directly at the hotel and we were very pleased of the quality and punctuality. The only thing we did not like it is the internet we had to pay for and not working very well in all areas. Our breakfast was included but we had to repeat it every morning but they apologize. Overall very good experience!

Le Mahogany a l'aventage d'apartenir au Créole Beach qui est l'un des plus beau de l'ile. A Gosiers vous etes proche de toute les autres villes et 20 minute de l'aeroport. Le Zawag avec son viviers de langouste, la plage privée magnifique. L'ilet du gosiers à 5 minutes (3 euros) en bateau est magnifique, vous pourrez manger du poisson grillé les pieds dans le sable d'une vraie carte postale.

The hotel was rather ordinary and the food was good but not exceptional. Location was rather bleak and we were not impressed with it.

La vue sur mer n'était pas celle que nous attendions, mais surtout les équipements de la cuisine ne sont pas à la hauteur pour le coût de cette réservation, pas de micro ondes, vraiment le strict minimum d'ustensiles, et pas vraiment de coquetterie dans cette terrasse cuisine. Mais bon nous avons quand même passé un bon séjour, l'éclairage non plus de la chambre n'est pas des plus satisfaisant, sinon tout est très propre les extérieurs également et malgré le nombre de vacanciers pour un endroit quand même assez petit nous n'avions pas l'impression d'être dans une si grande structure, nous n'étions pas dans la promiscuité, puis dans l'ensemble le personnel était accueillant. Dommage Le Gosier n'offre pas beaucoup d'attraits par rapport à Ste Anne (marchés etc....) également trop d'hôtels à proximité.

Ayant déjà beaucoup voyagé aux Antilles, l'hôtel est loin de pouvoir être comparé aux autres établissements de même catégorie.

We stayed at the Mahogany Hotel Residence and Spa twice in January/ February. The check in was lovely. We were surprised, however, by our room with twin beds pushed together ( with separate bedding) that was supposed to be our King bed room that we had booked. We were even more surprised by the Manager's lack of desire to make any concession for us. They changed the second bedding the second night, but there was still a lumpy gap in the middle. Very European, we understand. The language barrier didn't help. However, the lovely bar with friendly staff, the restaurants, and relaxing pool made up for the hotel room. The manmade beach was very nice too. The little sandwich and pizza restaurant on the beach was great. The rooms can be a little dark. The kitchenette on the balcony was nice though. Overall, a nice stay. Mahogany is on the same property as La Creole (seems to just be a separate building). The bell staff is wonderful, as are the restaurant and bar staff.

I globally enjoyed my stay here (liked the setting), but had some hick-ups. The pool was nice, although a little busy with people if you want to swim lanes. Fitness center fully equipped and working fine. not too happy with the guidance when checked-in. It was dark and the directions to my room was insufficient, so difficult to find. had to carry my heavy suitcase up some stairs - would have been nice to have been directed to the elevator - or had help with the suitcase. Major hick-up was the internet. It was not working in my room and had to sit in the lobby - MAJOR minus when there for work. Also, the price of the Internet was outrageous. I don't get whey it has to be paid. I will de-select the hotel single handedly for not being able to deliver stable and accessible internet. Front staff was a mixed experience; One new under training (very service minded) and one not so service minded experienced woman. In enjoyed the fact that you can both bike and run securely on the roads (be careful) but cars are used to it (even on the National road). Guadeloupe is wonderful and one of my favorite Caribbean destinations.

The rooms were comfortable, clean, stylish, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The views from the balconies were lovely and the balcony kitchenette was adequately stocked and very handy. The bathrooms were very nice, modern, very clean. Our only complaint was that there could be more hooks or shelf space, and the lighting could be a little better. The fact that the Mahogany is one of several buildings within the La Creole Hotel complex was a little confusing at first. The hotel staff was generally very helpful and pleasant; a few exceptions, especially in the buffet restaurant. Definitely a snobby bias against those who are not fluent in French! Be warned if you are English-speaking and not French-fluent that most staff outside of the front desk do not speak much English and misunderstandings can result. The food in the buffet, breakfast and dinner, is good-to-excellent. The pool is beautiful. The beach and swimming cove were just so-so, but the option of being taken out to Islet de Gossier just offshore, upon request, more than made up for it. Many amenities in the hotel and pretty grounds, like a good bar and much comfy common space for hanging out, made for an extremely pleasant stay.
