Hunton Park Hotel

I wish I could give this venue less than one star. We chose it because of its last-minute availability as we had a very short engagement and the beautiful grounds, but our experience fell far below expectations and left us upset and embarrassed in front of our guests. When we arrived in the morning to check everything was ready, there were religious decorations at the entrance to our reception space from another event. We were assured they would be removed before we returned, but they remained there until late into the evening, leaving them visible in many of our wedding photographs. Our chairs were also missing, and our event manager was nowhere to be found despite us being told they would meet us that morning to go through the schedule. From that point onwards, the day felt chaotic and stressful. Guests were not welcomed with drinks as agreed until we raised the issue ourselves. We were then told the team had not received the planning meetings notes from our venue-provided organiser, so we had to go through the entire plan again while guests waited around. During the meal service, staff asked guests individually what they had ordered despite us already providing meal choices and place cards. This caused some guests to miss starters, and we ended up having to provide the meal orders again ourselves. The food was average at best. A lot else went wrong but the worst part was that more than 500 guests attending another wedding on the grounds were allowed to walk past our windows and stare in while we were eating, making everyone extremely uncomfortable. We paid a premium for this venue because we wanted a private and intimate experience, even paying for a 30-person package despite having fewer than 20 guests. What makes this even more disappointing is the lack of any meaningful resolution afterwards. Although we raised these issues, we never felt the seriousness of the situation was properly acknowledged. We were offered a one-night stay at the manor for our anniversary, which we explained we could not accept as we already had plans to go on safari in Kenya. More than six months later, we have heard nothing further. Your wedding day is something you can never redo, and it is heartbreaking that so many avoidable issues overshadowed what should have been one of the happiest days of our lives. Even now, we still feel distressed thinking about everything that went wrong. We would strongly advise other couples to think carefully before trusting this venue with such an important occasion.

The interior was nice, but not looked after , the breakfast was okay, not much choice especially for the £20 something it cost

Not cleaned properly, very small rooms, false advertisement by posting pictures of the gardens etc, which i assume you were not allowed to go to. 0 info from the hotel staff, no interactions from them. Incentive for no house keeping offered, with a free drink, did not receive this at all. Will not be returning here again. Very disappointing.

Reception staff when checking out, in our experience, could be improved. Also, first night I I asked to see swimming pool & receptionist said, I would be given towel & access when I wanted to use via reception. I actually wanted to look at pool before I use it, & opportunity not forthcoming. On checking out receptionist on phone leaving people waiting, whilst two staff in adjacent office. Husband had to ask for other staff to check out. He had triple bypass & I am recovering from serious illness & really struggled taking luggage to car yet no staff offered to help. One receptionist still on phone & other did not acknowledge. In contrast on arrival we used back entrance by error & staff member was very helpful & offered to take luggage. Restaurant staff very helpful & polite as was bartender. Will definitely return & written in the spirit of constructive feedback for some areas albeit I also understand there is a context for everything & maybe staff I mentioned were busy

I really liked this place! There’s a nice park nearby, and the hotel room was cozy.
