Hunton Park Hotel

We enjoyed the pool. Unfortunately, it took a while to get access to it, and one of the nights the lights were switched off half an hour before it closed while our kids were still swimming.

Immediately on arrival we were told that our family room had "issues" and we couldn't stay there, however, they would upgrade our room at no extra cost but, we had to pay an additional £50 (refundable) deposit first. However, we would have to change to another room on the 3rd night as that was only available for 2. Begrudgingly we agreed and after we paid the deposit, they decided that wasn't viable and changed our room again to, two interconnecting rooms instead for the 3 nights, meaning we had to then be refunded and exchange room cards, etc. After hours of driving up from Manchester with the kids we agreed as we were tired but were not too pleased as you can imagine. Once we got to the rooms we discovered the interlocking doors were locked and had to go back to reception for the key. Before I'd even gotten one side unlocked a staff member had run up to retrieve the key as she said it was needed due to "other issues". Because of the mix up, our rooms were insufficient of towels, and we were classed under room 8 only, instead of 8 and 9, but this was not specified to us as both numbers were written and 2 cards given, one for each room. Because of this, only one room was cleaned and wet towels were left all day and not collected until the following day. I had to go back to the reception to explain and ask for additional towels myself. I noticed that one of our big Stanley cups was in a different position and had the rubber seal all twisted around which appeared to me to have been knocked off the table and hastily put back. There was a lack of staff throughout the entire stay. Most of the staff were pleasant enough but not around enough to be too friendly or helpful. We had to go looking for staff on numerous occasions to be served at the bar or main reception. Drinks weren't restocked and were firstly served to us warm.

The air conditioning

The dirty room i was first given, number 46. Then the wedding on Thursday evening. The guests were arguing and slamming the doors until 3am. Had no sleep and work at 7am friday

Neat, clean and a swimming pool. Had everything we needed for a pleasant one night stay

Nothing

Breakfast was good for the price. Staff were very helpful. Pool was clean and relaxing. The room was beautifully decorated and well stocked. The air conditioning was well needed! The bed was very comfortable and we both had an excellent nights sleep.

There were some dirty glasses left outside of the room door overnight and a pair of knickers left from a previous occupant which slightly spoilt the overall effect. Though this was a minor issue.

The location was amazing, wish we had stayed longer and used all facilities. Breakfast was beautiful. Perfect to Harry Potter Studios the following day. The fountain from the Harry Potter film was a beautiful little walk away from the house after breakfast.

Attention to detail, no spoon for hot drinks in the room and no TV remote. Not that I wanted to watch it but my partner did of the evening.

Everything was nice and clean. Staff were friendly. Easily accessible.

Seemed understaffed. For breakfast there was 1 lady working and didnt have time to reset tables, juices, mugs for the coffee station. Waited around 5/10 minutes to be seated as she was no where to be seen..
