Newbury Guest House

Lovely guesthouse perfectly situated in the heart of the shopping street. Front desk was professional and welcoming. The room and bathroom were of good size. The mattress was especially comfortable. No breakfast but coffee and tea were included and in free service all day in the lobby. Possibility to park (for a fee), very convenient. The little extra: 10% discount at the good restaurant « La Voile » at the hotel’s basement. I will come back!

The location was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable.

It would have been nice if the TVs were smart TVs with access to streaming apps like Netflix, Prime, or Hulu.

Clean, well organised and very central location close to all the restaurants, sightseeing and shops. Good vibe and atmosphere. Friendly staff.

It would have been good to have a breakfast option.

I recently stayed at the Newbury Guest House for 5 nights. It was my first time staying there and will definitely stay there again. The entrance way/lobby and elevator are all a bit worn and "well loved" but there are some improvements in the works and the friendly helpful staff and lovely room entirely balanced that out. My room was clean, fresh and charming. I was lucky enough to be assigned a room with double windows and a feature fireplace, it was fresh and modern and very clean. The bathroom wasn't particularly big but had everything you need and a more than ample shower. There is no hotel kitchen/restaurant but there are so many eating options nearby that you don't even notice. Every single staff member I encountered were cheerful, friendly and very accomodating for any questions or requests.

The location was great for exploring Back Bay, access to restaurants and shopping. There was no breakfast, but there were several options within easy walking distance. The room was small but comfortable.

I wish that there had been a breakfast available, but the coffee station in the lobby made up for some of that. The bed was also softer than I like and my husband and I both woke sore and a bit stiff.

The hotel is just wonderful. Great location. Great service.

What a delightful place to stay. You cannot beat its location on Newberry Street. The host who checked me in and out was fantastic and made everyone feel welcome and attended to. He even helped me with my bag down the few entrance steps. My room was clean, cozy and comfortable. The bed super comfortable. Nice touch to have 24/7 coffee, tea and water (including sparkling) available in the lobby. Other beverages available for purchase including beer and wine, along with a cabinet of glass glasses to use instead of paper or plastic cups. The onsite La Voile restaurant is a nice feature, bustling with activity inside and out. Maitre'd attentive as well. Highly recommend if you're looking for a boutique place to stay instead of a hotel chain.
