"Good to Average Stay at a Doubletree"

We stayed 1 night while visiting Niagara Falls. We had a 15th floor room facing the lower falls and it was a great view. We were upgraded to this room - I wouldn't pay extra for the view, but it was a nice perk. The room itself was very large and easily accommodated our family of 4. The room was clean and the staff were helpful. The location was good, a quick walk (10mins) to the falls or Clifton Hill. The hotel is very busy and there was a lot of security personnel around. It seems like the hotel is well used by locals and guests. Parking was $35/night but as we walked around we noticed there may be cheaper options nearby. I would recommend a quick drive around the neighbourhood to look at parking rates before committing to the Doubletree lot. It might have been worth it if I thought the car would be more secure, but I noticed Google reviews with cars being vandalized in the hotel lot, and, sadly, we saw a car being vandalized by a passerby while we were in the lot during the day. Overall, it was a good hotel room, with the parking being the main drawback.

"Noticeable drop in safety in the hotel and surrounding area."

We stayed here once before and enjoyed the hotel. The room was clean and the view was nice. It is close to most attractions and the Fallsview casino. This visit, April 2026, there was a noticeable homeless problem and visible security on all levels. The pool area was not clean in spite of a very strong chlorine odour. We suspect the hotel is temporarily housing the homeless, but do not advise visitors of such. As Hilton Honours members this is inexcusable and we will never return.
