"Very old style property, run for the convenience of employees not guests."

4.0

Great location for sunsets.

Two beds consisted of a double mattress on a queen frame, and a thin single pad on a wooden board. Two bath towels, one wash cloth was all the amenities provided. No water, no kettle. Breakfast didn’t start until 8am at which point the mass of hungry travelers created a 30 minute queue to be served. Reception was closed early and didn’t open before 8am. Excessive base from entertainment vibrated to furthest end of property all evening. We departed ahead of plan.

"We had a great time and it didn’t break the bank."

6.0

Most of the staff were very friendly. Great location, and it wasn’t overly crowded while we were there. Good bang for the buck.

Food was Meh, a couple staff that were not so nice, slack on the room cleaning, still a lot to do cosmetically, possibly from the storm. Nothing extra.

"Decent"

5.0

Great views everywhere, sea facing room. Few restaurants nearby. Easy to get to the nearby beach, activities, other popular places although not walkable. Nice pools and sea access through the cliffs

Misleading shuttle service advertised - only goes to beach once a day at 10am and return at 4pm. Lot of bugs in the room. Change of tower request led to them taking away the towels and told you ll get it back after laundry. Breakfast was bad - everything oil soaked and felt weird for hours after eating. Also despite seeming buffet style, its weird - there is a staff member standing there who will ask to handover your plate and give you what you ask for as access is blocked from your side on purpose. Hospitality was below average overall.

"Samsara cliff resort"

8.0

On arrival we were greeted at reception by a lovely kind lady ,she quickly checked us in with all the usual details ect and we were taken to our room. Our room was slightly dated but had a gorgeous sea view and was very clean. We didnt have a hairdryer and I asked for one and didnt get one for two days, they clearly dont have enough for all the rooms so bring your own. No water , drinks or coffee and tea in room. You dont get free bottled water, there is a water dispenser next to the bar! Had to ask twice to get sheets changed after 5 days. Maids weren't very friendly to be honest, even though we tipped, there is no do not disturb signs which isn't great. There was only one restaurant when online it stated two areas for dining. All the food was good and the staff in the restaurant were lovely and friendly and helpful, but there isn't enough food choice, it reminded me of a school canteen, you get a plate and get served, a choice of two maybe three different meals for dinner, lunch was the worst ,breakfast was the best fresh omelette, eggs however you want them cooking, sausages, beans, pancakes, porridge, kids cereal, only one milk which was full fat,so no good for me as im lactose free so this made things even harder for me, at an all inclusive you would expect at least one milk alternative... fresh coffee and tea available. Generally cater for american taste, everything sweetened for example the bread. A small selection of fruits and muffins. Gladly say I never had an upset stomach! Would recommend Ivans for a lovely dining experience. There was one bar area where the staff again were very friendly, and special shout out to Tina who by far looked after every guest with a smile! All the staff worked so hard to make our stay pleasant. Plenty of cocktails on menu, red stripe beer and unfortunately no wine on all inclusive menu, which to me is bizzare and sad as im a wine drinker! You could buy wine but it wasn't worth it, not nice enough to spend money on. Two lovely pool areas, loungers slightly dated but with cushions on they were very comfortable. There was a small shop down the road just a 2min walk left out the hotel, dont go total rip off, there is a supermarket about 10mins away in uber, still expensive but not bad for snacks. Uber was our way of transport it was cheap and easy to use via the app. Ricks cafe is 10mins away. And negril 7 mile beach 5 mins away, the hotel provide a free shuttle twice a day to the sister hotel which is a total sh** whole, but you can get drinks on the all inclusive and go down the beach which is beautiful and has lots of little bars and shacks. We booked one trip through tui and it was awful, black river and ys falls, travel was too long on a cramped bus and saw only one crocodile which was disappointing 😞 Then we booked our other trips via tripadvisor, so much cheaper and more choices, would recommend booby cay island with lobster dinner and snorkeling! In general we love Jamaica and will be back again but sadly I wouldnt choose this hotel, it was ok for the money we paid.

"Family-run hotel with breathtaking views"

10.0

I stayed at the Samsara Cliff Hotel in March with my husband and 4-year-old daughter. We stayed in a quiet and clean deluxe room and had breathtaking ocean views from both the room and the balcony. My daughter loved the pools, and we adults enjoyed swimming and snorkeling in the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunsets and the stunning ocean views. From the Samsara Cliff Hotel, we also visited the nearby Rick's Café and took a trip to Mayfield Falls, which included a fantastic river hike. It's also a great base for visiting YS Falls, taking a Black River tour with crocodiles, and stopping by the Pelican Bar. What we particularly remember is the friendly staff at the Samsara Cliff Resort. There was a very welcoming and family-like atmosphere throughout the entire hotel. There was always a good selection of food, and the food was generally very tasty and delicious. The hotel bar left nothing to be desired. We felt very comfortable and would definitely return. The shuttle service to Seven Mile Beach is also a great bonus. In my opinion the hotel offers good value for money.

"Amazing Staff."

8.0

My partner and I recently stayed at the Samsara. We had a Deluxe room, which was very nice. A big comfortable bed. The room was clean. The view from the balcony was beautiful. There was plenty of hot water, although the bathroom is a little on the small side but functional. There seems to be a problem with clean bathroom towels as you didn't get any until much later in the day which was not always convenient. On a few days we didn't get any at all! The sheets need renewing as some of them are extremely off colour. The all inclucive package is more like full board with drinks thrown in. The food is hit and miss some days very nice others not so good. We ate out most evenings. The breakfast was always good although a bit repetitive. Now to the drinks, they do a list of cocktails that are included in the all inclusive. They are strong but the alcohol used is very inferior. If you want name brands you must pay extra. In general the hotel could do with a spruce up. The potential is there, it could be stunning. The jewels in the crown in this hotel are the staff. They are friendly, helpful and so so lovely. A big shout out to Georgia, Kim, Tina, Chantelle, Marcia and everyone else that we meet. You are the reason people come back to this hotel year after year!!! So to sum up the Samsara a hotel that could be amazing is in some departments lacking. The staff more than make up for hotels short comings. Would I stay there again? Maybe not but when returning to Jamaica I would definitely go and visit all the wonderful staff who made our stay so very memorable.
