Samsara Cliff Resort

Samsara just never disappoints!! We've been going since 2011 and it is most assuredly our home away from home. If you are not into the large resorts with their multiple restaurants, multiple bars with watered-down drinks, and WAY too many people, this is your place! Small, quiet and friendly - you feel the staff's dedication to making you feel welcome the second you step in the front lobby. We have brought many friends with us over the years and we have also met lifelong friends while staying there. I cannot say enough about the food - Georgia Dean and the rest of the cooking/wait staff upstairs are amazing! You look forward to each meal but the dinners are outstanding. The rooms are all very clean, well equipped and comfortable. We have our favorite (not giving the # here because, well, it's ours!) but we have stayed in several in the original sections. The newer rooms look very nice and modern but we have not stayed in those. Our son has accompanied us the last 2 years and his rooms have been great! Marcia, Tina Tina (our name for her) are always welcome sights at the bar and we've grown very fond and acquainted with them both. The drinks on the all-inclusive are all awesome and there is a large menu available. The pools are always clean and they are very refreshing. The newer infinity pool is nice for a break and the view is amazing! Speaking of the view, you will NOT find a better spot in Negril to watch the gorgeous sunsets. You can keep Rick's and the massive crowds of people in your way. This place is the spot to be when the sizzle happens! Overall, we have not found a better spot in the Caribbean. This resort will always have a special place in our hearts and in our family because they have made us feel like family. We are anxiously counting down the days until we return. Thank you also to Nestor and Pauline for your endless dedication and hard work. These two always make sure we're cared for and make a special point to speak to us while we're there. What a fantastic holiday. Hotel is in a great location, especially if you like snorkelling or just laying on sunbed watching the dolphins swim by. Plenty of little local restaurants/bars near hotel, which were also really good. The holiday was made special by the fantastic staff ant the hotel, all really friendly and always smiling and had time for everyone,. Thanks for all the laughs Kimeiko, Charm, Tina, Georgia and Darett, sorry if we’ve forgotten anyone. We will definitely be back and hope to see you all soon Ned and Wendy x

We spent 3 lovely week's in samsara cliff resort negril, it is a beautiful small freindly hotel, we had a ground floor room with full sea veiw, the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you, the food was very good and the drinks not too bad either, there was a free bus to the beach and back if you fancied a change, there are many bars and restaurants within walking distance, we will definitely be back Samsara, Jayne and Tony.

We are an American family, living in JA and we come to Samsara Cliffs several times a year. It’s our favorite hotel in Negril. Great staff, very kid friendly, and the food is great. Recently we had a booking issue but the staff made special accommodations for us. There are 3 pools for the kids, and the cliffs are fun to jump from. Don’t waste your time with other resorts!

Love this location with the cliffs. I don't enjoy the beach much, so this was a perfect option for snorkelling and having access to the ocean. This was my second time here, and we came back only for the location.

Literally impossible to eat dinner at the restaurant there. We tried twice, and after 20 minutes of back and forth, we were told there was nothing available for us. Another time, we were told they were only opening the restaurant for a group who had booked it. We ended up having to take a taxi into town every day for meals, which was a hassle when we just wanted to relax. Same story the last time we stayed. The restaurant and bar actually suck. This isn’t the staff’s fault at all, they’re just doing their jobs. But it really doesn’t seem like the owners care much about this beautiful place. It would be sad to see it fall into dereliction like many other places around it. Sadly, we probably won’t be returning to this hotel.

We loved the staff at Samsara! Tina, Sharm, and Marcin really made us feel that we were staying with family. All the staff were excellent but those three are really special! We loved the small comfortable feeling of the resort. Understand there is no beach here, but the swimming, snorkeling from the cliffs is excellent and there will not be venders constantly walking through or trying to sell you anything. We were in the older part of the resort room 210 a superior ocean side. The room was great and clean with a nice small patio with a view of the ocean and the smaller splash pool. There are no amenities in the room, but the bathroom was plenty big and there was always plenty of hot water, also a really comfy King bed. We did not go there to hang out in the room, but it checked all the boxes for our needs. There are things to be honest that are in need of attention at the resort, mainly many of the loungers are in need of repair or replacement, but they seem to always be some available. The towel game did not seem to be much of a factor at this resort which is a very nice surprise! And do not forget they are still working to get over a major hurricane. We did the All-inclusive so we ate most of our meals at the resort. Admittedly they seemed a bit reputative but we always found plenty to eat. The meals were fresh, hot and served with love. The ladies running the buffet were fabulous! Busy and a lot to do trying to feed so many folks but they do an awesome job! With the all-inclusive there is a drink menu to choose from with many options, all with local spirits and plenty of Red Stripe! Samsara, does have a way different feeling then the mega resorts, some options are comparatively different and fewer. But this place feels like Jamaica! The employees try very hard to please and are so welcoming, we will be back! Last two things to say, Respect! One love Jamaica! Todd n Shelly

Had a great trip to the Samsara Cliff Resort, booked a sea view room which was great. Yes it’s not your typical all inclusive resort, the meal options were limited however the meals available were good, some traditional Jamaican dishes and great omelettes on a morning. Yes there are areas that could do with a bit of upgrading but, give them chance, they are trying. The staff a great and the drinks are good too. My negatives, bring some ear plugs. There is a venue opposite that plays loud music until the early hours, there are some dogs nearby which seem to start barking around 3:30am and then the cockerel starts at 4:30am. The road is very busy but walkable especially down to Ricks and other local bars. However the noisy cars seem to fly by on a night ! Next door to the famous Ricks is LTU bar, stunning views, amazing cocktails and great staff, give it a try. Give the sister hotel a try, the beach is amazing, if you don’t want to wait for the free bus it’s a $10 taxi ride. I’d say all in all a good stay, I’d come back.

We stayed the last week of February and had the sea view room which was very nice. Had to wait a day and a half with no towels in the room after visiting the reception desk and asking the room attendant twice. The food was mediocre at best. Two days we didn’t even bother going for dinner. The best part of the day was having an omelette made to order. The dining room has no appeal whatsoever and needs a good cleaning and an update. The staff were wonderful and a pleasure to be around. You take your life in your hands walking on the main road. We walked down to PeeWees one night and enjoyed the music and the food, but the walk itself was terrifying. A few people we spoke to simply used this resort as a base and ate all meals out. If that is cost effective for you it would be a good option. I would suggest that you spend more money and find an all inclusive with better food. Also there is a dog nearby that barks ALL night long…someone told me it was the owners residence, but I cannot confirm that. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
