Decent pool

Run down, staff weren’t friendly

When we parked the car in front of the lobby, it gave vibes of British colonial architecture, with high ceilings and large arched framing throughout the villa, and white-washed walls. It felt like a British aristocrat entering a tropical Asian country for their duties. I am not an aristocrat or British, just a family enjoying what North Queensland provides us during the wet season for 8 nights. We arrived at 11am and had quite a surprise when we heard our room was ready. Check-in was smooth; the only slight hiccup was that the booking didn’t show the two kids we had under the reservation. Initially, I thought I had made a mistake with my booking, but something had gone wrong between my booking on the Accor website and the information received by the hotel. Since we booked a two-bedroom apartment, this wasn’t a problem. As Accor members, we had complimentary drinks, which meant we were able to enjoy virgin mojitos from the pool bar. The apartment was modern, with a two-cooktop induction cooker and a microwave. It doesn’t have an oven, washing machine, or dryer like Mantra Esplanade, but you can use their laundry to wash and dry for $5 per load. The highlight of the stay was the lagoon pool, which my son enjoyed and was the first to enter as soon as it opened. If you get bored with the pool, you can always walk to Four Mile Beach (I would say this is the best-looking beach in the entire Australia), which is only 100m from the hotel. Overall, a great experience. As a family, Mantra PortSea gave us a great start to 2026.

I stayed here for a week during my Australian trip, and it was perfect for the price. The room wasnt the biggest, but it was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I really like the attentive and friendly team members at the desk.
