The hdro therapy pool is only available as treatment, sauna's were not hot enough and staff unhelpful. facilities are over sized under kept to good working order. Double be was 2 singles put together.

I stayed here to do a 4 day course (which was excellent). I also booked separately for the night before the course. On the first night I was up graded to a Luxury room due to a mix up and as the remaining 4 nights were also in a Luxury room I asked to stay in the room rather than move but was told someone else was staying in that room and that as they were separate bookings I had to checkout and check back in. As that wasn’t bad enough, the one treatment I was having had been organised for when I was attending the course (which they also organised). I pointed this out and was advised I needed to go to the treatment desk to sort it out. Why should I be the one to sort it out? It’s was their mistake! As if that wasn’t bad enough, my treatment was for booked for 55 minutes but lasted for 25 minutes and the rest of the time was for showering & dressing! Food is another issue. Breakfast Is a buffet of cereal, yogurt and fruit with the only free hot items porridge, hard boiled eggs & toast. Other hot items are available but incur a charge, which is shocking given that it costs in excess of £250 per night for B & B. It’s the same with dinner- many things are not covered & additional charges apply to certain meals, desserts & vegetables. The staff are helpful but there simply isn’t enough off them to service all the customers. Overcrowding, especially in the pool area & restaurant make this anything but a quiet retreat, which is a shame as it is in such a beautiful location.

The evening meal was beautiful however there just simply weren’t enough saunas etc. Tring is by far miles better.

Wonderful stay it was our 2nd time with my friend. Website not totally user friendly as wasn’t really sure of treatments and offers on. The room was clean could of done with a mini fridge or an ice bucket as was charged for the usage! I Tavel for a living as cabin crew so used to staying in nice hotels. We will both be back c

Beautiful location and excellent facilities. Very disappointed with staff and their attitude on check-in - made to feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable when told that as we had booked bed and breakfast through Expedia we were not allowed to use the spa facilities during the day. Access was only allowed from 5pm until it closed unless we paid an extra £55 per person per day. We were not made aware of these restrictions prior to booking.and it was not stated on the booking confirmation.

Beautiful lake and grounds and outdoor swimming pool area perfect for a hot weekend. Wonderful therapy suites. I was upgraded to a beautiful suite due to them not being able to give me my allocated room. Service in restaurants was a little erratic due to not enough staff for a fully-booked Hotel. Food was very good though.

We stayed for 2 nights, it’s a beautiful property and location, interior of the hotel is lovely and calming. However the customer service is appalling. Lack of staff and a complete lack of care and attention by the staff that are there. No smile or pleasantries, not one member of staff even said “good morning” when you ask for something it’s greeted with a grunt or a huff. Staff are slow to respond and the queue to be seated at breakfast is ridiculous. Tables/ glasses not cleared throughout the hotel, chairs/sun beds not tidied, wet towels just left where guests have discarded them. The indoor facilities (pool, jacuzzi etc) are great but sadly let down by the fact it’s a mess. It has the foundations to be an incredible resort but completely let down by the service. We stayed for our 16th anniversary but there were no nice touches to our stay, or even an acknowledgement at check in, we were greeted with disregard. Treatments were expensive with average quality, again let down by lack of personal touch towards guests.

My first visit to Champneys. Charming property. My room in the old part of the house was full of character with a view over the grounds and lake. After reading some reviews, I was expecting a property that had seen better days. Not the case. The spa was amazing with many areas for relaxation, and my stay was First class in every respect.
