Stardust Motel Redding

In the first room, TV didn't work. 2nd room ok- carpet, sheets clean but overall rundown. Bathroom walls cracked, toilet handle stuck, shower was moldy and calcified. Parking lot was empty, pool under tarp, stains on walkways. Door card unreliable. I certainly wouldn't take my wife there. All this for the same price as another motel a block away (where I've stayed before) in much better condition. The Stardust needs an overhaul to justify being listed on Hotels.com

If you need a clean place to shower and sleep with a budget, this is it. The room has all the basic items like microwave and fridge. Easy to approach from freeway. The owners are friendly and helpful. Cafes and restaurants are just down the street within walking distance. Free WiFi in the room.

I had an amazing experience at the stardust motel. Clean, homey rooms. Detailed tiling in the showers. A home away from home. And Ganel and his business partner were so kind as to share a little bit of their culture with me in the form of a spicy indian bread. Comparatively cheap for a local motel so much character, as opposed to the chain motel 6's I've become so accustom to in my travels.

Good, attentive service, assistance given when required and clean value for money rooms. We arrived late into redding for check-in and the two brothers were very helpful and assisted us with information for surrounding restaurants etc.

These are not five star accommodations. However you get a good value for your money. There are restaurants close by. Walking trails other attractions that redding has to offer. When checking in you will be helped by one of two brothers. personally I like the idea of helping the local small business owner, rather than some faceless corporation.

As far as the motel appearance, service, & room quality, I got what I paid for and have no complaints. The owner/operator is kind & likable. I had 1 room for 1 night, and stayed in the room with my 12 year old child. As I have insomnia, I wind up awake in the middle of the night at times. This particular night, I had intentionally left my computer on (I have it set for no sleep/blacked out screen) for a night light in case my son or I woke & needed to use the restroom. At 3:20 AM, there was a knock at my door. Now- I had left a do not disturb sign on the doorknob at 4:30 pm when my son and I first walked into our room. The sign had been stolen by a resident of another room. The person at the door was looking for methamphetamine & came to my door asking for some. I did not appreciate this kind of disturbance, especially considering I just took ALL visitation from my 12 year old's father because of his methamphetamine use with our son present. Although the property is nice enough, my suggestion to the owner would be to clean up his property! The trashy long-term residence he is renting rooms to are disturbing paying customers that are only in town because they are on business & have to be up at 4:30 to prepare themselves for their day & vacate the room by 5:30 am.

Was a little nervous when we first pulled up but fpr a place to crash for the night get nice shower and a place to crash it did the trick

Good enough for the money. . . . .not a 4 star so can't expect a 4 star.
