Stardust Motel Redding

We enjoyed stayed in this motel, good price for a room and we got to support small business owners. The building and rooms are cute and have a nice old fashioned look to them. Great place to stay the night!

Older motel ...my room was very clean...especially the carpet

Room was ok until I felt something on my face. Next morning my husband got up and found a roach on the bed. The room had an abundance of roaches . Other room was having an electrical problem. And smelled like cigarette smoke. All together would rather have stayed somewhere else.

The place was clean. I liked having fridge, coffee pot and microwave in room a plus. The Staff was very nice and wanted to please. Very helpful. Great accommodations for the price and good location that fit my needs.

Like other reviewers mention... it's not 5-star accommodations (it's a motel, after all), but we had a great experience here. We were only their one night en route to a camping trip, and we're glad we stayed here. First, we showed up very late, and the guy at the front desk not only took care of us fast, he actually came out to the car with us and helped us take the luggage upstairs. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and because I was so exhausted, my partner asked the next morning if we could have a late check out, which they were very accommodating. Also, all the people who worked there that we came in contact with were very friendly, helpful with directions, places to eat, etc. Thank you!

No frills, decent place. Nice proprietor. The room wasn't ready when I arrived and he worked quickly to get towels and bedding in place. Walked me to my room to show me the quirky electricals, which was probably good because it would have taken me a while to figure out the light switch had to be on by the door in order for the TV to work. Just needed a cheap room for a night and it fit the bill. Would stay again when travelling thru town.

My husband had to take pictures of the outside of the hotel--it was a 50s route 66 style hotel with lots of neon in the signage and furniture that looked about that old, Hotel clean, compfy bed and pillows, easy access to freeway, no breakfast--not a very good area. Wifi was good, pool closed for repairs--It has been spruced up.

On this trip through Redding, I was told that generally there are hotels in two locations in Redding: The old downtown, which has some sketchy areas, and the "Hilltop" area which is right alongside I-5. So, based on price and reviews we chose the Stardust for a one night stay. The gentleman on the phone was nice, they gave us a good price and in general all was fine. That being said: The neighborhood IS sketchy: bars on the "night window" are a give-away. There were some people in the parking lot and in front of some of the doors who looked as though they lived there. Because we asked (upon arrival) to be downstairs, I feel we might have gotten one of their rooms that is sometimes used as a family residence and had its share of cosmetic issues. I must say though, they couldn't have been nicer: making sure the TV worked well, delivering ice, etc. Because we can, I probably would choose a different location next time.

I recently moved to redding for my new job and I chose stardust motel for my initial stay. I really like my stay here and strongly recommend this motel. It has wonderful front desk person and manager who provided me a great customer service even when I checked in at middle of night. They are very personable and helping. All other staff of motel including maintenence guy are supernice. Motel rooms were clean, nice and organized with dining table, microwave, fridge, tv and complinetary coffee in room. ( what else can you ask for such affordable rates ! ).
