This hotel is not actually a hacienda, but a nicely executed cloister within the walls of historic Campeche. It’s probably one of the 2-3 best hotels in Campeche—I would characterize it as a “four star” hotel. It has well-appointed old rooms with character, and quiet, picturesque gardens. The location is great, located at one end of the main restaurant corridor in the old town. The hotel has some parking out front. We did not try the hotel restaurant. The swimming pool is clever, but maybe too clever and hard to keep clean. Indeed, the pool is too popular with the local birds, and there’s a guano problem both in the pool and on the walls of the pool area. The pool area and its maintenance deserves a rethink, but if you’re not planning to swim, you are unlikely to be disappointed by this hotel.
Que tuvieran más llaves, perdimos la nuestra y no tenían más llaves disponibles, y son esas de plástico que se programan, entonces cada que regresábamos tenía que ir alguien a abrirnos la puerta 😅

Visite el Hotel Puerta Campeche hace 5 años y se me hizo excepcional ! Hoy, cobran carisimo por una experiencia que ya no esta ahi. El bar y terraza cerrados. La comida, cochinita pibil y pollo, seco y malo. La alberca fria y comentan que ya no tiene caldera. Muy decepcionante experiencia para lo que fue un gran hotel !

Beautiful property..we have now stayed at all the haciendas of this group. Each one special abd Beautiful in their own way.
Beautiful hotel. The pool is awesome and the food is a must. The rooms and beds really cozy. The attention of personnel not so good and if you’re in a hurry don’t ask for anything because service is slow in Campeche. Be aware that in Campeche there’s no Uber or Didi and taxis are very difficult to get.
Beautiful property next to the old city gate - we enjoyed an impromptu concert from the top of the city wall (while on the roof of the hotel!). Pool was awesome (but the water a little cold!). No gym sadly and no breakfast included. Tons of character, but definitely on the pricey side.
