Aquila Elounda Village Resort, Suites & Spa

Set in a beautiful location, very nice rooms and excellent service. All the people (reception, service, restaurant, grooms, cleaning services) are very kind and helpful! We had a great time!

I went on holiday with my friend and the views were amazing, the sea view , the staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked half board and the food was mainly cold and repetitive, they also don’t offer water or drinks during meals and you have to pay for a drink for your meal and not allowed your own drink. Breakfast was amazing , staff really friendly. For the price paid, bare minimum is to offer water for meals. They also offer a room to change for ur flight after checkout which is lovely

This has been our 12th year staying at this hotel and always look forward to going back. It is a friendly relaxed atmosphere ideal for recharging. The rooms are clean spacious and have spectacular views (i would recommend booking a sea view room) as does the rest of the hotel. They have plenty of amenities and activities if you want to use them. It's located on the outskirts of Elounda, around 30 - 40 minutes walk or taxi's are readily available and can be ordered at reception. The food is excellent in the main buffet and all the Al la Carte restaurants with plenty of choice and is available all day. What makes this hotel extra special is the amazing, friendly, efficient staff in all areas of the hotel from the first greeting at the reception desk to the last drink of the night at the lobby bar who all go the extra mile to make your stay as good as possible. Some staff are especially outstanding such as Eleni who has looked after us for all our 12 years visiting, working in the lobby bar gliding across the floor to greet us with a welcoming smile and taking our order. It is always so good to see her and the other familiar faces when we return and we will be returning yet again next year.

An absolutely beautiful hotel, filled with amazing friendly and helpful staff! On arrival our cases were collected from the transfer bus, as they were brought into the hotel, we were greeted with a glass of champagne to sit and enjoy as we checked in, before a buggy ride with our luggage to our bungalow. You should download the hotel app on arrival, you can use this to order drinks to your sunbed and make reservations in the restaurants. The food in the buffet and the 3 a la carte restaurants is out of this world! I would recommend making reservations to the a la carte restaurants early in your holiday (especially the grill) to take full advantage of them! We enjoyed having a couple of hours to relax in the spa, Kostas and Maria were professional though out the experience leaving us feeling fully relaxed. I would recommend a first floor room overlooking the sea as the views are spectacular, we will be returning again next year as many do! Thank you!

Everything was amazing, recommend going all inclusive

Here now for the 5th time, (7th in Elounda) this hotel is amazing. Our bungalow is large and we love our private pools. Bed is super-comfy giving a lovely night’s sleep. The food is delicious and plentiful. There is a private beach and little bay as well as access to the main sea. Waiter service at beach. All staff are brilliant. Maria, our guest relations manager is a delight and so helpful and welcoming. Other staff remember us too from previous visits. Nikos in dining room, Thomas in reception and Tasos who always makes time to help when we need and a friendly word here and there. Manage all the hotel with husband’s electric wheelchair, luckily he can carefully walk down the steps to the beach. The spa here is fantastic too, loads of available treatments and a gorgeous chill-out area with saunas, steam-rooms, ice, private for half hour after treatments, and an indoor pool. Greek night is brilliant, love to watch the Greek dancing! Absolutely wonderful place to stay - running out of superlatives- highly recommended!

Visit the spa , it is a must …. Even if you have never used or been to a spa please go to this one. They have 3 saunas differing rooms in temperature, 3 steam rooms, showers , a 45 degree room very relaxing great for opening pores. We booked an exfoliating massage and a flow and glow massage and facial lymphatic fluid one ….Beautiful Maria was very good, attentive and friendly we were relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards

My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay at Aquila. I booked this hotel based on helpful reviews left here. We had a sea view bungalow which was just lovely! A huge clean room, walk in shower, large balcony with a beautiful sea view and a really comfy bed. The room is cleaned daily and the mini bar refreshed daily. The hotel staff are all lovely and attentive and make an effort to chat and make you feel really comfortable and welcome. We were all inclusive which is as so worth it. Most things are included and you don’t feel limited at all. The hotel is in the most beautiful setting looking over Mirabello bay, the reviews are just unreal everywhere you go in the hotel. The beach area is so stunning but we found the beach / jetty area really overcrowded. The hotel says it has a no leaving towels on sun beds policy but all throughout the day there were so many sun beds left reserved for hours and hours. the staff don’t do anything to remove them. At times we wanted to change up our area but there were no available beds on the jetty by the sea but loads of beds with towels on. Staff come round regularly to take drinks orders and there is an easy to use app for ordering drinks yourself. We stuck to two areas and we always managed to get sun beds in these places and we got the sun all day in both areas. There is enough space for everyone. Crete can be really windy in September so bare this in mind. Obviously this is nothing to do with the hotel but at times the winds were 35mph. The buffet is nice but I do feel it could have a bit more variety on hot food. Sometimes it was a bit samey. There could have been more fish and more vegi stuff. The salad bar area is huge with fresh salads, cheese, cold meats, loads of fresh fruit, veg and bread. The breakfast and lunch buffets were also great. I found the lunch to be better than the dinner. Sometimes it could be a little slow to get drinks but it wasn’t an issue. Elounda town is only around 10 minutes away in a taxi. We asked the hotel staff to book the taxi for us and they arrive in minutes, all Mercedes cars with professional drivers for €12. The taxi rank is in the main sea front area and so easy to get a return taxi. There are loads of lovely restaurants in the elounda sea front, Rakomelo is not to be missed! The whole area is so aesthetically beautiful and so worth going to, we went into the town 3 times for dinner during our stay. The area is just so stunning to spend time in. Overall it was a lovely stay in Crete and I would recommended to anyone wanting a relaxed all inclusive holiday at an adults only hotel. It felt like a luxurious stay.

We booked the Mythica Bungalow with Sea View and Private Pool. Wonderful view from the room. Disappointing pool - not a pool, it is a plunge pool but clean and inviting. Room clean and bed very comfortable. There is a coffee station, and mini bar. The staff come every day and replace anything you need and turn your bed down for you every night which was such a sweet touch! View of the sea is delightful. We chose half board. The food in the main restaurant is varied and good. Something for everyone. We ate at the Greek night in one of the other restaurants on site and the food was great accompanied by Greek dancing and music. Staff are polite and friendly at all times and very professional. All in all I would say this is a lovely hotel and provides a very relaxing atmosphere for adults only. My only complaint is the beach - and that is a personal preference. I would not call it a beach. It is a jetty area near a bar with music playing constantly. There are too many people all concentrated sunbathing in a small area and it detracts from all the good things about the place. So finally my synopsis is - great hotel, good food, lovely professional staff, comfortable room - the only things that are not ‘perfect’ are the tiny private pool outside the room and the disappointing beach. Would I come again ? No - but only because I would like to sit on a real, uncrowded beach in peace and quiet!
