"Lovely hotel spoilt by all inclusive guests"

8.0

We arrived around 2.30pm on Friday and was surprised our room was not ready despite check in time being 2pm. No welcome drink was offered but we were sent to find a bar with vouchers for free drinks. These were limited to a soft drink, sangria or tea / coffee. No cava? Our room was ready by 3pm and we found our room to be spacious and clean but disappointly overlooked the road on floor 1. This is where I would strongly recommend booking a pool view room as the patio doors did no block out the traffic noise at this level. Pool are large, busy but we found sunbeds easily thanks to the no reserving sunbeds rule. Dinner in the evening was eventful - and extremely inebriated man was having a serious choking incident and after some intervention from very worried looking staff and guests he vomited on the floor. His friends in his group found this to be amusing while the nearby guests who were nearby, including young families, looked absolutely mortified. The staff handled the situation well but the next day I was surprised and pretty disgusting to see the same man and his group drinking during the day by the pool. For this reason I will never book an all inclusive hotel again. We were half board but there were a number of large groups on middle aged people drinking large amounts and getting louder and more boorish as the days went on. There was another incident where a different chap had a medical incident in the afternoon. Again a big group, drinking in the sun. I would hope for better for a 5 star hotel but unfortunately the all inclusive element seems to attract a certain "type" and for this reason we would not return. It's a shame as in all other aspects this could be a really wonderful hotel.

"Lovely Holiday"

10.0

We stayed for a week, half board in March 2026. We’d previously stayed on 2 occasions so were keen to see what it was like after the refurbishment. We really enjoyed our stay, although were unlucky with the weather. Anyway, the hotel certainly has the ‘wow’ factor when you enter. Plenty of space, with loads of comfortable seating. The rooms were really nicely refurbished, with everything we needed. The beds were huge and comfortable. The toiletries and shower were great. Everywhere was really clean. I can’t comment on the pool as the weather wasn’t warm enough to venture in! Food - an excellent choice at breakfast, including cava, and omelettes made to order if you wanted. We really enjoyed the evening buffet - we love choosing different dishes. There was always plenty of choice, with some meat/fish cooked to order. Given the amount of food that was produced, the quality was excellent. My only niggle would be the dining room did get very busy and congested sometimes- however this is a big hotel and probably only to be expected. Entertainment - we don’t normally stay for evening entertainment, but we did stay on a few nights. We really enjoyed it - it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere in the lounge area. We’ve stayed in several 5 star hotels in Costa Adeje (and elsewhere); and I’d say this is definitely good value for money. Not on the same level as the GFVictoria or Middle East hotels, but we’d definitely return. Our daughter and partner joined us for part of our stay - they’d never stayed in a 5 star hotel before and absolutely loved it.

"Mixed review"

6.0

Hotel looks amazing, its really clean thanks to the staff that keep it that way. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Rooms are fresh and stylish, beds are amazing. Poolside is clean, lots of entertainment during the day. Pool bar is a little disfunctional, you have at one bar for drinks and anther bar for food. AI is limited, to certain items, if you choose something different you have to Pay for it. Food is bland or greasy and very repetitive, I watched food being transferred to another dish by hand, (no gloves) wrapped in clingfilm for the following day. Food not very warm. vegetables under cooked. Evening ntertainment, very basic and cheesy. I would return but on a bed and breakfast package only

"Excellent staff"

8.0

Shout out to reception staff - Darin, Elizabeth, Leticia and Tamara who went out of their way to help us on several occasions. In all honesty the food was luke warm by the time we got back to our table. The plates need to be a lot hotter. However plenty of selection and we enjoyed the food just a personal opinion. The rooftop pool was also chilly. Drinks excellent. Area excellent Hotel cleanliness excellent Staff friendly and helpful.

"Great February half-term break"

10.0

We stayed here as a family of 8 (6 adults and 2 children) for a week over February half-term. We are frequent visitors to Tenerife and the GF Victoria is one of our favourite hotels, but we thought we’d try the Gran. We were very pleased with our stay and are returning in August. The rooms are beautiful, so comfortable and have everything you need. The food is fabulous and we enjoyed every meal. Yes, you get the fussy people who complain that there isn’t enough for children or it’s cold by the time you return to your table but we never had that problem. Possibly because our children are not part of the “chicken nugget brigade” and actually eat real food - they loved the salmon, sea bass, fresh salad, pasta and pizza. My food was actually too hot but naturally, if you spend ages walking around it will become cold so people just need to be sensible and you won’t have an issue. Considering how beautiful the rooms are after the refurbishment, it’s a little disappointing to arrive in reception to the ceiling being covered in duct tape! Yes, I am astonished by the positive reviews about the beautiful entrance when you can clearly see it looks unsightly. This is a minor synthetic issue but for a 5* hotel that has undergone major refurbishment, it really does need addressing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but one of the reasons we booked here instead of the Victoria was because we’d read a review about music playing around the pool all day. Despite this being a negative review, it really appealed to us. We enjoy the atmosphere around the pool and this was something slightly missing in the Victoria. Sadly, it was more diar in the Gran! The only music around the pool was when the water aerobics took place. It was quite sad really as when you looked around the pool area, everyone was signing and enjoying themselves during this time but when it stopped and the music was turned off, deathly silence resumed. It was clear that people around the family pool would welcome the music but it wasn’t to be- I really hope they review this before we return in August. There were no pool activities for children which was again, was slightly disappointing. We assumed from previous reviews that there would be inflatables in the pool, similar to the photo advertisement and that of every hotel we’ve stayed in during February half-term, unfortunately, this wasn’t to be. Again, I anticipate this will be different in August. The new area which houses the slides and splash park is fabulous but there is no surprise every sun lounger is available all day. It really hasn’t been thought out well as there’s no actual pool in this area. Once the kids have used the slides they are bored and there’s no where for them to swim or play. We did find it a little strange every night when we walked into the restaurant and asked for a table of 8 to be greeted with,“8, are you joking?” Surely this is an unreasonable request? The Jungle bar was strange and not somewhere we would return. It felt like they were trying to compete with the Hard Rock’s 16th cocktail bar and the Victoria’s rooftop bar but very badly. The cocktails downstairs were better and the views were not too great. Personally, I think the space could be used for better things. The drinks and cocktails in the main bar were fantastic but the service could be somewhat sporadic. The entertainment was really great but totally lost on the audience. The female signer who performed some fabulous hits from the 90’s was amazing but it was lost with the 70’s clientele. We really enjoyed ourselves but when the combined age of the audience is 80, I can imagine it’s a tough crowd! Again, I anticipate this will improve in August. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning. The only thing I hope they improve is the atmosphere during the day. A little music around the pool would be great. Many thanks to all the fabulous staff who made our stay.

"Wonderful staff make this hotel special!"

8.0

We now have had a week to settle into this very good hotel. All staff are friendly & efficient. Food is excellent, it really could not be better. Don’t forget to use the heated plates to keep food hot. Public places are spotless. Lots of comfy seating dotted all over hotel. You need to be adventurous and you will discover much to impress you. Our one and only disappointment is with our room. We paid extra for superior. Room 216 2nd floor. Lots of wear & tear marks. Perhaps the room & corridor are due for refurbishing. We have not heard any noise while sleeping. The wonderful staff make this hotel special. Thanks to you all. We are here to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary and recovery from a life threatening illness. So this holiday is special to us.

"Very impressive hotel."

10.0

After the extensive refurbishment & being 5 star, we expected the hotel to be nice but we were blown away by how lovely it was! The staff are very welcoming & friendly, the rooms are spacious & plush, dressing gowns & spa toiletries too. Beds are made & fresh towels every day (even if you hang them up rather than in shower) The adult only pool area is lovely with great views, pool is heated though very shallow but nice for a not confident swimmer like me. The other pool areas are nice & plenty of beds, nice thick cushions too. We did B & B & there was plenty of choice. You are taken to the table & asked if you want coffee or tea so you do have to ask for a refill rather than being able to get yourself but the coffee was very good & saves the queue for the machine. The robot crockery collector was a source of amusement! Theres a bit of a walk into the main part of costa adeje but its a lovely area & great resteraunts nearby.
