ibis Dunkerque Centre

there was a strange smell in the ground floor

Overnight from ferry.. Very late arrival but made welcome.

This compared badly with every other IBIS Hotel that I have stayed in. My room was in an annex, the corridors were badly lit the carpets old and paintwork dowdy. The room was very basic, but the shower worked well - the one redeeming feature. I stayed here because I was travelling early the next morning from Dunkirk Ferry. It took 25 minutes to get to the ferry, almost the same time that it would have taken from Calais where there is a much nicer IBIS.

Very friendly welcoming staff. Lovely meal in restaurant in the evening and varied and delicious breakfast buffet in the morning. Would definitely recommend and stay here again as a stopover.

Just all we required close to restaurants and wine 🍷 and food 🍴 festival which was purpose of our trip

What a disappointment this was! We have stayed in several Ibis Hotels and have always been more than satisfied, but this hotel brings no credit to the Ibis brand. The car park beneath the building looked as if it was crumbling away and this set the tone for the rest of the ill designed building. Our room required a long tortuous journey through sometimes windowless corridors - where there were skylights the frames were mouldy - to reach Block C, for a lift to the first floor. Although it was the usual Ibis design, it was so large that it seemed half empty and unwelcoming. The bed was as usual comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was also clean. Breakfast was adequate but again not quite the standard we have enjoyed at other Ibis hotels.

Arrived at 10.30pm hotel sign not lit up,therefore,it was hard to find.Hotel receptionist patronising and awkward.No access to the free carpark that was advertised.I had to park my car on the street.No free wifi in the room.Hotel corridors to the room smelt.Room itself was clean and tidy and served the purpose of a bed for the night.Hotel is in a rundown part of Dunkirk - 10 min walk to the centre of Dunkirk.Won't be recommending this hotel or visiting an Ibis abroad again.

This hotel says Free WiFi & Free Parking. You do not get Free parking! When you arrive they tell you the parking is on the street, nearby. This is true, but I booked this hotel because I had a badly sprained ankle and could barely walk. They did not say that I had to wander the streets of Dunkerque looking for the free wifi. Admitted it probably is somewhere in the small print, but it is still deceptive. And never EVER order one of their @Croque Monsieur@ sandwiches, starvation is preferable
