Excellent stay, perfectly situated to explore Downtown

Our checkin and stay was fine. The property is clean and breakfast was good. However, after checkout I noticed charges on my card that were not accurate. After several days of trying to reach someone at the property, I brought up my concerns around the charges. The staff were adamant we consumed wine that we didn’t. They charged for a bottle opener that we didn’t take, refused to refund the difference of what we actually consumed, charged my friend’s card for my room when I specifically requested my room be charged on my card. Honestly, up until the dispute of charges I would have stayed again, but now, never again. Stay at the Churchill Manor next door. Much nicer property and much friendlier staff.

There was quite an Internet research process when selecting accommodations for our March 2025 California wine country trip to Napa Valley and Calistoga, and we came across The White House, a perfect Gem. It was a great find. Historic. Quaint. Quiet. Luxurious amenities Beautiful. Comfortable. Accommodating. Affordable. Convenient. Cozy. And, best of all happy, friendly, personably customer service and relaxing evening wine & cheese hour and delicious morning coffee & breakfast. I was in heaven and certainly found it hard to depart. I can’t wait to tell my friends and family about this treasure and look forward to returning one day again myself. Thanks to the entire White House staff for a delightful stay and memorable experience. The V.I.P. service & treatment was a charm.

This was our first visit to Napa valley with our visiting guests from Scotland and South Carolina. What a fabulous place to stay easy access to downtown Napa and the most fabulous environment. The rooms were amazing and staff were friendly and welcoming so helpful and pleasant. I will definitely return especially with family members visiting from Scotland.

A complete interior and exterior renovation was recently completed and it is spectacular. Everything was done with good planning and workmanship. The location is an easy walk to the numerous restaurants in the River Front section of Napa and entertain ment venues. The included breakfast was a well prepared full meal. On-site parking and no facility fee was nice. The room was spacious and well equipped but for some reason had no chairs. For us, that was a because we tend to wake up at different times and the early riser reads (in a chair) until the other wakes. There was plenty of common area seating but we would prefer to stay in the room. The Inn has an unusual policy of charging extra for early check in and 4:00 pm arrival as the no fee default. I think this is part of a plan to go to automated check-in with the door lock programmed to open at the time you contract for in the reservation process. We arrived at about 2:00 and the hotel people who were on-site were totally welcoming and graciously opened the door for us. While I saw the variable price policy in the reservation documents, it didn’t resister with me. As a result, checking in early cost $104 extra that was automatically charged to my credit card. My bad because it was fully disclosed but I don’t get why early check in should cost more if the room happens to be vacated and cleaned when you arrive. Late check out fees make sense to me because it disrupts the housekeepers timing. Lesson learned - I’ll be on the lookout for early/late check-in fees and factor those into my hotel selections if my timing of arrival is likely to be outside of the no charge window.

Beautiful well maintained grounds provide an excellent welcome experience. Greg was an accommodating host and provided a thorough welcome to the White House Napa Valley with history of the property. The room was well designed and appointed. The bath had an incredible shower and the amenities were divine. Close to downtown Napa and walking distance to some of the best restaurants, bars and markets in Napa. Nespresso machines in the room and public area are a nice addition for quality coffee throughout the day. Breakfast was a nice addition before a day out at the wineries.

This hotel was beautifully remodeled, unfortunately it smelled of the dollar store cleanser which overpowered all of the great Molton brown toiletries. There was also no one on site after 7pm so when I was locked out of my room because the door code wouldn’t work I wasn’t able to get a hold of anyone for 2.5 hours. Which meant I had to climb through the window as my keys to my car were locked in the room. Of course that was unsettling as it meant my room wasn’t secure.
