We expected an authentic Tuscan experience to end our Italy trip, but unfortunately this hotel did not deliver. The property feels more like an average American-style hotel with a pool, rather than a true Italian stay. While the views are beautiful, the overall experience was underwhelming for the price. Breakfast is nothing special — basic buffet and self-service machine coffee. Without a car you are completely stuck: the only activities are a very overpriced cooking class (€250 per person) or a challenging hike into Barga. A taxi to town costs €20 each way, which feels excessive. We left disappointed, as this was not the Tuscany experience we had hoped for. Positives: the staff were kind, the views are beautiful, and the rooms are spacious.

What an amazing location for such a beautiful hotel. The views are so picturesque and peaceful. Lovely rooms with great food. Spend 4 nights there for my daughter’s surprise birthday. Staff are very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this stunning hotel although where it’s situated you need to have a car, unless you are happy to chill by the pool or spa. Thank you to all that made our stay very welcoming and pleasurable.
